Not sure if it'll stand over the weekend, but we have the guy with the most rushing yards (Peterson) and the guy with the most points (Longwell) at the moment for the week.

The daily local is talking blackout this morning, if so the Viking players can expect even less people to sit around Sundays and admire their gold chains, tatoos, and first down celebration dances on TV this season. With half their schedule airing in only one market, they as a franchise have become insignificant......home and away.

How many quarters before Kelly Holcomb is the QB?

Let me set the line at 10...

The thing that really caught my eye was the fact that in order to buy single game tickets for the Packers game, you also had to buy them for the Falcons game... so needless to say, since the Falcons game isn't a sell out, neither is the Packers game. That's unheard of.

I'll take the over...not that he didn't look pretty good, but I think Coach is going to give TJ a decent chance to prove if he's got what it takes, which will give Kelly a chance to learn the playbook.

However I do see KH being the QB by the 1/2 way mark, for one reason or another, be it injury or failure to produce.

Good observation IS.

And its about time.

A franchise whose 'glory years' and star players are linked to losing 4 Super Bowls shouldnt be the center of attention.

The fact that they are not sold out for the Falcons is a good thing. Maybe it will give the franchise a little kick in the butt to get some people in here who knwo what they are doing.

Whoever decided to draft a wide reciever #1 that cant catch a football needs to know that the fans are not just going to show up and fall all over everything Vikings anymore.

The NFL needs to know that the fans arent going to show up and tune in no matter what these idiots do on and off the field.

Hey, yooz guyz wanna drive to Mankato to watch the game if its blacked out.

I'll use this to sum up my thoughts on the acquisition of Holcomb.

The Vikings are trying to buy beer on Sunday.

It's makes no sense, they knew they were going to need it all week and now they are scrambling to find it when it's not available.

It Will become a better product or it may become extinct when the NFL begins to play more games on other days of the week.

In the very near future I see the NFL utilizing 4-5 days a week throughout the entire season. The conception of the NFL Network assures this. Down the road I see a doubleheader on Thursday night, a West coast game on Friday Night, and a Prime time doubleheader on Saturday evenings and a double header on Monday nights.

People will probably eat it up but for me its saturation.

Its just too much.

Part of the allure of the NFL was that you had to wait a week to see a game. Sunda was a big day.

You could watch your favorite team and then be treated to a 3:00 game that was usually a big game like Dallas vs Wash or something like that.

Then MNF came along and even though it added a game day, enhanced that allure.

Now its too much.

Maybe, but the NFL has always been very conscience of both college and high school football by not playing on either Friday or Saturday
(until the college football regular season is over). If I'm not mistaken they actually have some sort of a formal agreemnt in place wtih the NCAA to not play on Saturdays, and sort of a "gentlemens' agreement" with high schools about Friday.

I think you'll see more college games turning up on the NFL Network before you'll see more NFL games on other days of the week.

I don't know if the NFL is that nice, if they can make money, I think the gentlemens' agreements they've had with Miles Brand, Joel Maturi and the principal of my local public will take a back seat to big business and advertising dollars. Our nation just topped 300 million people, there are more viewers than ever and the NFL can have as many of them on as many nights as they want.

I'll rant about the tatooed-gold chain wearing-first down pointing-thugs but I'll watch them before LSU/Miss St. any day of the week......and the NFL knows it.

You're probably in the majority on this one IS, but the talent level LSU put out on the field last night was better than what the Vikings and Cowboys had out there in the second half.

Most regular season Viking games required the purchase of a preseason ticket (the exceptions were the Packer and Bears games) to get a regular season single game ticket, now that the preseason is over I imagine the Falcons game will sell out. It's hard enough to spend $70 for a game let alone $140 for 2 if one is preseaon.

I agree with PB that the NFL is trying to get a game on as often as possible, even trying to expand to an 18 game regular season. They should look at the lesson of MLB; back in the days before cable you rarely could see Twins games let alone out of market games aside from NBC's Game of the Week on Saturday afternoons and Monday Night Baseball on ABC. Now it's on so often that even ESPN has given up on it and shows Poker instead of 2 of the Red Sox/Yankee games this past week. Less is more, supply and demand, etc.

Lastly, luckily for the Vikings the Twins have tanked it, if they had won a couple of games in Cleveland this past week the buzz around the Twins would have been growing immensly.

Feel free to clue me in on what you're talking about with the NFL network, because a local channel picks up the games anyway. Just like last year when one of the Packers games was on the NFL network it was still on CBS or something. So I'm not sure why the NFL network hurts MN at all.

Vikings: Traffic Fears Hurting Sales
That's what the headline reads.

Geez, is that what this franchise is trying to sell?

They are reeling and its about time. This town has for too long just ate up everything Vikings no matter what they did on the fileld and in the front office

Blaming the brige collapse for lack of interest in the opener.

Pathetic.
