Could be an interesting day at HM when teams are posted. Coaches may have to grow an extra layer of skin and buy a set of ear plugs.

Sometimes too much talent is not a good thing unless it comes with amazing team cohesion. There's only one puck on the rink, and only two assists to be had tops for every goal, etc. The question becomes if players that would elsewhere be THE superstar can handle playing in a supporting cast or TEAM oriented role as maybe a 2nd/3rd line player, not logging special teams time, and maybe not getting the point totals that they would due to score control, etc. needed by teams that belong playing "AAA" not MSHSL AA or A. Thank goodness most of these "super teams" are actually AA at least now and not hanging out at A! I do have to say though that it's a treat to watch such stacked teams except if you are standing on the opposing bench! And, if doing so with a homegrown small-school squad you usually love the chance to take on such super teams even if everyone knows the deck is stacked against you & maybe on paper should come out as a touchdown + field goal margin...

keepitreal wrote:... this is not a debate about transfers or privates, the thread is about "mythical" teams consisting of kids who played in the same association. No one is suggesting these kids would have ever played together in high school. The point is, some of these youth teams were very talented and collectively would have made very good mythical high school teams.
Thats what I thought when I clicked on the topic. I think it'd be interesting to see what community teams would have looked like without privates or transferring. Don't debate the issues, just imagine that private schools and transfers don't exist and post your team. I guess I thought thats what the spirit of the topic was, anyway.

SEHock, I think you're from Rochester. If so, what would mythical JM/C and Mayo/Lourdes teams look like had they not been broken into 3 teams? I only know who the younger girls are that are 1-2 years removed from 12U or 14U.

Minnetonka would fit into this catogory especially if you include last years graduates

Megan Curry, Breck
Liz Dunlop, Breck
Michelle Tremblay, Blake
Christina Benjamin, Edina
Tess Ryan, BSM
Kate Bacon, BSM
Emma Shields-Nordness, BSM
Amanda Nagel, BSM
Larissa Clark, BSM
Jena Nelson, BSM
Molly Nelson, BSM
Jordyn Burns, BSM
Gretchen Gottsacker, SPA

Watch out in the next few years though as the girls from the 2007 U14A and U14B move into High School most of whom I believe are staying at MHS

Tartan lost their share over the years to HM, NSP, Stillwater, etc. I believe... I could be wrong though... I think with many of these players they lived in areas where they had a choice of many different schools due to geography but could have decided to go to Tartan vs others...

Also you can include the St. Paul Public team(s) that would have been stacked, as would have been the Mpls team too I assume...

Some of the St. Paul and Mpls. kids to have left in the last few years include:

Corinne Henning (Culver Academy)
Milica MacMillen (Breck)

Liz Berg (BMS)
Nicole Schaub (WBL)
Suzy Lundeen (Edina)
Delaney Middlebrook (SPA)

I'm sure there are others I have missed (Kelly, Orlady, Griffith). Maybe someone closer to the programs can comment.
