Having been around these guys for the past 4 years, my guess they are looking at the kids with birthdays before September 15, 1990. All 1988's, 1989's and the 9+ months of 1990's are eligible for next June's NHL draft. But the focus is primarily on the 1990's.

Most likely they have the initial Central Scouting combine list that lists players as "A" players (candidates for the first 3 rounds) or "B" players (candidates that could be drafted if they continue to progress throughout the hockey season). This list will be made available to the public sometime in October.

After this, they are also taking notes on the next group the 9-15-1991's for the 2009 draft.

I'm assuming that was sarcastic, Team north won 14-0 and that's where kids can rack up points. A couple teams I noticed don't even play Norway. Just mu opinion but Norway didn't come close in any games and it was a points game kids wanted to play.

Actually, I was not being sarcastic. I did heard the Norway team was brutal. Many kids racked up points vs. those guys. Heard one kid got 5 of his 7 points vs. them.

Did all teams play against them to even things out?

No, not all of the teams played against Norway. North played Norway twice while Southeast and Northwest didn't play them at all. The team from Norway was extremely weak and would have trouble against many HS teams in the winter, let alone teams in the Elite League.

Sounds pretty unfair to me, every team should play them one time and no one shoud for sure not play them twice. North has more players in the top 9 because they had the easy schedual.

I wouldn't recomend Norway to be back next year.

I wouldn't worry too much about who is ranked where in the stats in this league. I realize some people get caught up in that stuff but the people who matter (scouts, coaches) don't skim the surface like that when they come to their conclusions.

I have to believe you are correct.

In my opinion, one of the most telling stats along with points is plus/minus. NHL types talk about that all of the time in the media.

In the games I saw, some of the D acted like wings more than D. Some of the forwards wouldn't back check all the way into the zone and were quick to transition toward the offensive zone.

breakout those must be the kids who are still getting a 5 spot for assists and a ten spot for goals from delusional dads.

Kind of like regular high school hockey, eh? Some teams play dismall teams and get high stats for some players. Just sayin'

Don't sweat this kind of stuff, the the people who matter don't care, and the people who care don't matter.

Thank you so much. It seems hard to find scores right away after the games have been played. They are good at posting them come Monday after the weekend.
Thanks again.
