Eagan has a nice team. The team has size and good goal-tending. In my opinion, they will certainly be a top 5 team throughout the year.

Wayzata should be strong as well. large numbers and a good athletic class at the Pee Wee level.

Edina should have a good group too.

coon rapids should be good. their peewee's were largely 1st year players after an outstanding season at squirts 2 seasons ago.

Lakeville South has nearly half of its team returning and should be very good.

Agree with you, Lakeville South should be good. Nice class of athletes in their Pee Wee group.

Finally Merged

Armstrong will be more competative. The board members finally figured it out and have merged Armstrong with Cooper. It is about time people start thinking about what is best for their development as opposed to what is best for their egos.

Another by-stander blasting those that volunteer their time?

Maybe you should get off the bench and get in the game.

Hey a peewee post!!!!!

Post by watchdog »

Roseau will be pretty tuff. we only have 5 2nd year players but a very good young group coming in from squirts. very solid this year and very lethal next year.... I also know east grand forks will be good, grand rapids will also be solid. theif river falls also not a push over in d16. im not sure on brainerd or duluth east but you dont see to many bad teams from those areas so ill assume d16 should be very competative this year last year was a sad year for d16.

PeeWee A

Those Broten boys are good. Then throw in the Strand kid and the Helgeson and they're all pretty scary. They were a very good Squirt A team last year. Lots of weapons and good goaltending.

Breakout I have done my share. Organizing off season ice, working with fundraising, and trying to help coaches set up scrimmages....

When I did volunteer to be on the board I was turned down.
I guess my ideas didn't fit into their plans. Nobody wants conflict and they didn't like someone telling them 7 years ago what they are finally doing today. The board felt it would be better to have a couple women who feel the need to have treats for their bantams after every game on the board. Running the team fees up another $300 per family.

If you knew anything about me you would know I am about the hockey and when I don't like something I go out and organize my own thing.

I don't mind being called a youngster but don't assume I don't do my share. Involved people don't always believe in the decisions of their boards. I wonder if people who acuse others of complaining without putting in there time are the ones who sign on so they can make sure their player makes the A team. Are your motives pure?

By combining The peewees will have 71 players 63 skaters and 8 goalies. This is what the numbers have been for years. Seems to make sense to be one association when they are competing against the likes of Wayzata and Maple Grove.

PeeWee A for 2007-08

Post by skatehardordie »

You know, I wish folks would take their narrowly defined disputes to another venue, such as messaging each other directly. As I scan chat strings for useful information, I get tired of seeing "you don't understand me" responses to criticisms centered on one specific person. And, no, I don't know any of these people who post in this forum.

Yes, I know that if I don't like I don't have to visit, but ...

This site works best when there is a useful sharing of information and insight about the world of youth hockey, and not so much about how one person who posts doesn't like another poster. this really is the only avenue for getting potentially reliable information from various associations, districts, etc. Let's make it as informative as possible.

Now, I'll probably get flamed, but there you have it.

Like yours, isn't this website about opinions? :? As for useful information, scan away. Hopefully, you will pick up something.

I encourage you to keep trying to help improve the situation. Find other board members/potential board members that have the same ideals as you. Keep in mind, majority rules on a board. If you don't have majority, work to get those on your side elected.

If you have great ideas..............don't give up.

Good Luck!

Don't count out AV I think they have like 9 or 10 second year kids. Had a good A team last year as well as a good B1 team.

At the 2007 Minnesota Hockey 'A' state tournaments District 16 had at two teams at the Bantam, 14U & 12U events. One team at the pee wee tournament.

No teams at Bantam B and 2 teams at Pee Wee B.

Since we do not have teams at other levels we were 7 of 8 at the A level and 2 of 4 at the B level. Six events, 48 teams and we had 9 teams.

Considering that D16's largest association is about 60 in size out of about 160 associations, we did okay.

Sorry, but 2007 was not a sad year for D16.

What he meant Elliot, was it was a sad year for Roseau.
Bemidji bantams won a game at the state tourney. And also went to the VFW state tourney, not sure how they did.
Bemidji peewees lost there first game at state 5 - 3 to eventual winner Wayzata in a very very good game.

What he probably meant was for Roseau pee-wee A's.

Bantam A - Roseau at State.
Pee Wee B - Roseau at State.
14U A - Roseau at State.
12U A - Roseau at State.

no what i really really ment was not just d16. well d16 sent one team and our region sent one more that should have never gone period but thats the way things are set up should be a good example to change the format elliot. roseau wasnt good last year i said that before the season started however what i noticed was the entire field at the peewee level last year was not strong. theirs a weak 93 class across the state of minnesota. 94 is also weak so that covers peewees for last year.

No Eagan in the top ten Gaborik? As Yoda would say, "holes your list has" :?: P.S. Woodbury didn't take their top 15 kids and they needed to in order to stay within 3 goals of Eagan... I've coached a 1/2 dozen of their Peewee A kids in off season venues the past few years and "beasts" is the word that comes to mind. As long as they didn't weaken the bottom of their lineup with "connected" kids like they did 2 years ago in squirt A, they could win a state championship this year. The two will clash soon enough in the D8 season. Hope to see you there.
