I forgot waseca. Now I would switch waseca with austin. I know Austin beat them last year but due to Austin's loss of players Waseca probably would beat Austin. So I would put waseca in Austin's position in my section standing and put Austin one below them. Still in front of Red Wing because I dont know what to say about them.
I really feel that the Section crown is up for grabs...

I appreciate your endorsement, but I think I'll pass. I have too much fun just watching the games to get that involved. In other words, to be perfectly clear, there is 0% chance that will happen.
Golfreak,
This is from last May, page 10 on this lame thread. Fill us in, you probably know more about the situation than anyone.

ONLY 3 WEEKS UNTIL THE START OF THE SEASON

The best team since the girls' hockey program started? Clearly the bulls eye is on Albert Lea. Look at the survey. They are the team to beat. Albert Lea feels they are they best. Do you guys really think that the coach hired is going to effect the ability of your team to achieve? Are you guys looking for a scapegoat?
I can not wait until we play and beat Albert Lea.

This may be the lamest thread, but Faribault is the greatest!!!!!

It is clearly the best team that AL has ever fielded.

RSI,
I'm probably hearing the same things as you. I can tell you that Steve Falk is out. Beyond that, it's anyone's guess.

We are clearly the best team in the section. Yes we are obviously the best team that Albert Lea has ever fielded. We have depth and better players at every position than in the past.
Anything less than a section championship is a definite failure.
IMHO, The coaching will have little impact on this team. The Falk brothers made this team. This team is ready to go to state. Buzzard 89 you are the only one that thinks Faribault has a chance at us. The rest of the section can get out of our way. Let the season begin.

Albert Lea is the best team in the section, I predict we will sweep Faribault this season.

Anybody else worried about our first line maybe missing the first week or so because of soccer?

OLYMPIA why should you be worried? If you team truly has "depth" in every position, having the first line absent for a few weeks shoud make no difference in your season.

NO WORRIES. By the time hockey is rolling we will be ready. Our soccer players are in great shape and skating on Sundays. And we are very deep.

By the way Faribault, when we play you, we will try to make it quick and painless. Can you say runtime!!!!

I think alot of teams we play, will be seeing runtime.

Best ever players? Who is better than Laura Hillman, Brittney Arndt, Tes Christiansen, Sarah Jensen ? I probably misspelled all these names, but you get the idea. I guess we can call this year's Albert Lea team the "All Star, All time, Albert Lea Dream Team." :P

The rest of the state beware. Anything less than a State Championship for this team, would be a complete failure.

You still have to play us. Faribault is the Greatest.

I think a little humble pie is warranted here.

Hey T,
Any word on the coaching situation? Practice starts 3 weeks from today, probably a good idea to get somebody in place pretty quick here.

I did speak to a school board member, who had no idea we had a talented girl's hockey team !!!
Unbelievable...
Maybe the AD will do the coaching !! LOL

Falcons, we do have players that are much better than all of those past players that you listed.
If #1 plays like she wants to be there and cares a little bit and makes the easy saves. And then if #5 passes the puck to her team mates, we can not lose. Olympia is right, We are going to sweep you Falcons.

Let's face it. With Austin's hit by graduation, Foley leaving for the T-breds, and Mankato West moving to another section; anything less than a trip to State would be a disappointing season for the Tigers,

Starting to sound like AL is doomed before the season starts.

Perhaps you need a history lesson???
Laura Hillman owns most of the scoring records at ALHS, most will never be broken.
There isn't 1 player on the current AL team could come close to matching the speed of Brittany Arendt.
Tessa Christensen could score a goal with sheer will and determination.
Sarah Jensen's picture appears next to the word "leader" in the dictionary.

You guys have a nice team, but let's not get carried away.

Good post RSI, and lets add:

The current team that is so "good" will go absolutely nowhere unless they work together 100% of the time.

Blaming a goalie and forward before the season even starts sets up the entire group for failure.

:)

ONCE AGAIN RSI AND TINYSOTA COME TO MY WAY OF THINKING..

But my new name for the current AL team is "Albert Lea's All time, All Star, Dream Team."

Faribault is the greatest.

Oh grate one falcons,
Your way of thinking? hmmmmm.... I'll leave that one alone :P :P It's too easy
My post today is no different than any of my previous posts. AL has a nice team and if they can find a coach they should contend for the 1A title and maybe even the Big 9.

WOW, I had fallen a few pages behind. Some interesting reading. I see Austin is off on the first game betweem Faribault and Albert Lea. I might have to attend that one. I will sit in the neutral ice area. Although I will have to give Albert Lea the edge, simply because they attended the Denny Bray Southern Minnesota Hockey Camp. :)

By the way, Tiger time, your #5 is a very unselfish player.

That first Albert Lea vs. Faribault game could be a live one. I see it is in Albert Lea. Should be fun to watch.

RSI, we know what you really think. Just get a backbone and say it. Always choosing your words wisely. You remind me of Jet.

Tinysota, you are quick to defend your daughter. Does she lack some type of desire, as suggested by tigertime. How does Christmas tree fit into the All-time Allstar Albert Lea Dream team. Is she the best goalie ever in Albert Lea?

Jet. I am disappointed. You have to give Albert Lea the edge simply because it is being played in that pole barn. With their home cooked refs, you start out as a 2-0 underdog.

Fairibault is the greatest.
