New Coach in Albert Lea?

Post by Puckhandler »

Rumor mill says that Mike Gordon has been named head coach for the Albert Lea program.

He was the U-12 coach.

Can anyone confirm this?

You know how rumors are...

As of today, according to the Athletic Department, they still are looking for a head coach. I have a feeling that will change very soon though!

It would be a significant loss for the youth program if Mike Gordon decided to pursue the HS job. IMO, he would be a fantastic U10 coach. The fact that AL is a pretty good group of skaters can be attributed to his practices at the U12 level.

'Handler,
Heard any new "rumors" on the vacant coaching position? I hear there is an outstanding candidate who has been offered the job. Can you confirm?

I heard it was a short list: HOCKEYPUCK1, HOCKEYPUCK2, or Falcons89.
Tough decision. :D

No seriously, I hope they get it resolved soon. Albert Lea has a great bunch of girls that deserve a qualified coach soon.

The last I heard one of the boys assistant coaches respectfully declined for several reasons.

Sounded to me like it would be the new gal handling quite a bit and the AD doing some of the "administrative" work.

I was hoping the boys assistant coach would take it...

ZAMBONI is more qualified to be a hockey coach than the AD! Clay seems like a good guy, but I'm not at all crazy about that idea. He's not a hockey guy and the gal is 23...

Too bad we're not going to get a qualified coach, we getting the AD instead. They refused to hire someone who was qualified because he had a daughter on the team.

Your new coach may not be qualified but at least he/she will actually care about the team.

Ask some Century parents about their AD. He wrote off Century having a team last year and the girls fooled him and went out and recruited a team. I think he had already reallocted the money and had to scramble to find some :o .

Best of luck to the Tigers this season.

I know I addressed this earlier in my posts. The nepotism policy of hiring, would come into effect. Every possible candidate from that town is somehow related to a player. I hear the banjo music now. :P :P :P

Faribault is the greatest. Our coach is not related to our girls. We have diverse genetics.

AL Coach

Who woud want to coach this team with a bunch of fruitcakes who post these senseless messages on this forum? Get real and wake up! From what I have read, I would not want to have a player on that team. I can see why your team stud left. I can not wait to hear your replies.

I do not believe Albert Lea has lost any of their players. By reading your post I can see you lack reading comprehension.

The big question is why would you leave a post like that? If it bothers you so much, do not read it. Do not open it. Just ignore anything to do with section 1A and allow the freedoms of America to work. Leave all the people that enjoy the thread alone in their happy place. And then if you still can't help your self, send me your address and I will be sure to mail you a T-shirt that reads "I need attention".

Sincerely, a fan of section 1A.

Oh yea, Faribault is the greatest. I love my town.

AL apparently now has a head coach and an assistant.
We will all find out soon...

The new Albert Lea Girls Hockey Coach is teacher at Albert Lea High School. And it is Brian Blatti. Yes the new coach is Mr.Blatti.

That is correct (I did not want to spill the beans), and if the assistant is the new math teacher with hockey experience, it might work out pretty well...a young lady dealing with the team of young ladies will certainly not hurt...
:D

PS---the team will certainly have a scientific and mathematic approach to the game
