Yah but if Jackson wasnt hurt they would trot him out there for another dismal game on offense.

Holcomb wont make any difference. How do you run an offense with no wide recievers? How do you get to a point in the management of an NFL team where you have no wide recievers.

Besides let's face it... it's not like the ball is getting thrown anywhere near them most of the time.

Vikings Right The Ship

EDEN PRAIRIE, USA - (AP) In a defensive taffy pull, the Minnesota Vikings snapped a three game losing streak by outdefending the Bye Week by a score of 13-12.. Though the Bye Week has never actually lost a game until Sunday, Minnesota did have a crippling loss to them a few seasons back. The Swedish Law Firm of Jacksen, Williamsen, and Petersen was largely ineffective moving the ball, although Petersen did finish the game with 105 rushing yards thanks to his 103 yard first half.

The real hero of the day was the Viking interior line, they held Bye Week rushers to 61 yards on 32 carries and forced two redzone fumbles. The porous Viking pass defensive held true to its "bend but don't break philosophy". The Bye Week backup quarterback shredded the Viking pass defensive for another 300 yard game but a Darrin Sharper, 103 yard interception and return for touchdown proved to be the difference.

That's the kind of bye week I think the fans were looking for.

Now, they can really get behind our precious purple.

Remembering the "Glory Years" of 4 embarrassing Super Bowl losses cant sustain the faithful forever. Not even the hallowed memories of 1998 can do the job alone.

We needed a good win over Bye Week to keep the juices flowingand thats just wajt our boys delivered.

Now we can dilude ourselves all week about how they will be ready for the Bears on Sunday.

Two members of the Minnesota Vikings got into a locker room scuffle Wednesday that featured a thrown chair, according to Twin Cities-area media reports.

According to reports in the (Minneapolis) Star Tribune and the St. Paul Pioneer Press, coach Brad Childress called a team meeting Wednesday after defensive end Erasmus James and running back Chester Taylor briefly squared off in the locker room after practice.

James reportedly threw a punch that landed near Taylor's right eye, and Taylor retaliated by throwing a chair. But when the chair accidentally hit left tackle Bryant McKinnie -- a friend of Taylor -- that brought an end to the incident, according to reports on the scuffle.

On Thursday, during the team's media access period, Taylor was seen with a shiner underneath his right eye. James, meanwhile, was added to the Vikings injury report Thursday because of a shoulder problem. It was not clear if the injury was sustained on the field or in the fight, according to the reports.

The team had no comment on the reports Thursday, according to the Star Tribune.

The Vikings, at 1-3, have lost three games in a row and travel to Chicago to play the Bears on Sunday.

Looks like McKinnie forgot to block the chair, must have thought it was a defensive end.

I'd just like to make it perfectly clear to everybody that I never had a doubt going into this game against the Bears, and I picked the Vikes to win by 3.

Well AP is the real deal huh!! and he made it a worth while afternoon to watch Viking football.
Breaking a 30+ year old record set by the great Chuck Foreman with 224 yds on 20 carries, making him #1 in the league by 90 some yds, I also heard he had some ridiculus # of all purpose yds can any confirm the total? I heard over 300??

However on the downside the combination of the dropped passes, special teams defense, and of course pass coverage nearly gave it away......again.

361 yards, third most in NFL history.

Fun to watch, but we're a Longwells toe away from calling for Childress's head this morning.

They should keep gift wrap and bows on the sideline for the amount of gifts we like to give.
