Old Guy I agree with you 100%. If the kids are staying for this, it's not good. There has to be changes.

I'm not sure, but I know that these teams are all taking 2-3 Min shifts. How many 3 min shifts do they think that they are going to get away with this winter. My guess is not many.

If they roll the shifts at 45 seconds or so everyone gets their ice time and the tempo stays high. Would make for better hockey if the assertions are accurate.

I suppose it is a combination of players and coaching. Most of the teams seemed to grasp the team concept as the season went along.

If this league is the answer to kids not leaving for juniors, then I would suggest that efforts be made to fix the obvious shortcomings

Watched 2 periods of SW vs NE today. I had read about these long shifts and thought that it was an exagerration, but to my amazement, the first three shifts I watched were all over 2:30 and the coach had many opportunities in each to change them up. Problem with SW is it must be a contest to see who can secure the next college committment. NE was a much better TEAM. Man they move the puck and just come at the other team in waves.

He's going to need to be good this year Sparlimb, he's going to have some young defense in front of him. IMHO Aus needed to cut a couple of senior D last year to keep an eye on the future. All will be fine second half though.

The other half of that NE elite team goaltending duo is no slouch either.

Like you said, the coach had many opportunities to change them up. I've seen the NW team play a handful of times and they seem to be the only team (coach) in the league that shortens the bench consistently and keeps lines on the ice for two minutes or more. I wouldn't be thrilled if I were a HS coach having one or more of my players "developed" on the NW team.

Watched Team Wisconsin Play South East this weeknd same thing there Wisconsin was up 5-1 and they continued to put their first line out every other shift with one time i timed it at three minutes -it was unbelievable coach had many opportunities to change up but must of been letting them show boat for the scouts.

I think overall the coaching in the league was good this year. Guyer from the North team really got his team to improve as the year went along. McAlpine from NE did a very good job getting the kids to play team hockey. He even got Tyler Zepeda to come back and help in the defensive zone on an every shift basis.
