That would be real tough to field two teams from 20 players total. There would be a number of girls playing 2 periods each in the varsity/JV games when they are playing the same day. Maybe you should combine with 3 or 4 other teams in a co-op arrangement like one other team in the North Metro area did last year!Silent But Deadly wrote:If we're lucky we'll have 20...and we will also field a JV team....it will be slim pickins!

Otherwise, based on this sample, there seems to be a good spread from 20 to 50 girls trying out for their varsity teams. If one of the objectives is to not have to cut anybody from the program, probably around 35 is ideal I would say.

It looks like 19 skaters! Sadly, we are already a co-op and still don't have the numbers. We are working on adding another decent sized community for 2008-2009.MNHockeyFan wrote:That would be real tough to field two teams from 20 players total. You are correct, most of the 19 will play 4 periods (2 JV and 2 Varsity) during each game. It's not great but doable.
As a sidenote, we are NOT taking anyone from our U14 or U12 teams.
