Rochester's goalie got them this tie. Dodge County outshot them 46-14, 22-4 in the second period and 16-1 in the 3rd. Roch went up 2-0 on two quick power play goals early in the first, and Dodge County bounced back with a dominating second period as the shots indicated. Rochester's lone shot in the 3rd period was a tip in goal, thanks to a bad defensive zone turnover by Dodge County. Rochester team sure could pass, but from what I saw DC outskated them and out hit them.
I'm just curious, didn't DC lose some 9th graders to the high school?
I'm not knocking DC by any means, but how does a town of 100,000 tie a town of 5,000 that has really only had its own hockey program for 10 years or so?
Good for DC, if they can translate that into some high school success maybe they'll start increasing their numbers and get the school board off their back a little.
Dodge County did lose a few 10th graders that had Bantam eligibility and one 8th grader to high school..it was the Rochester A2 team they played today but still, for the 2nd and 3rd periods of that game it was total domination by Dodge County.

Mankato has lost quite q few bantams to the HS programs the last two years. last year 8-9 kids left early to go to East as East has seen a decline in numbers the last couple of years. A couple of kids have left early this year with probably the best bantam player Drew Weber leaving for the West side where he should see quite a bit of Varsity action.

Coach told me after the game that Cloquet had only gotten their team on this past Thursday (Yeah 11/8/07), He said expects them to be a lot tougher next time around when they get some practice and games under their belt.
