I've been going to this tournament for years and really like the quality of teams and play that Burnsville provides.

After doing some research on some PWA teams(watched about 20 games this year so far)and trolling the web here's what I think.

Pool winners

Burnsville
Apple Valley
Minnetonka

Wild Card

Lakeville North

Instead of Minnetonka it should be LAkeville S

PWA - Predictions

Burnsville - look out for Rosemount who has been playing really well. Cambridge could surprise some too, but don't think they'll have enough to come out of this pool. Don't think Eastview will make it w/ these teams.

Apple Valley - however, Anoka could take this pool, their last two games they beat Elk River 5-4 and Blaine 6-3. They also beat a short handed Apple Valley squad 2 weeks ago. Lakeville North doesn't have enough fire power to overcome their issues with allowing goals. Hastings is the after thought of this group.

Lakeville South - Minnetonka is a solid squad, but hasn't beat any top notch competition YET. Roseville has not be able to hang close with upper tier teams so far. Champlin could have some close games, IF their goalies play like they are capable, and "the scorer" can do his thing.

I think any one of 6 teams stand a good chance of winning this tourney (in order) :
Lakeville South, Apple Valley, Anoka, Burnsville, Minnetonka, Rosemount

Looks like decent teams and nice mix of teams in each pool. bantam a should come down to Burnsville and Minnetonka but watch out for champlin park. peewee a is a toss up but I think that lakeville south wins in the end. squirt A has another interesting mix but I pick ep to win in the end. good looking tournament, should be fun to watch.

Burnsville Tourney

Burnsville 4 Rosemount 2 Empty Net goal.

Rosemount almost Tied it with a slap shot that goalie made big save with 2:00 minutes left.

I think Burnsville can be beat by any of the teams in there pool. Rosemount had no legs tonight and didn't want it and still almost pulled a Tie. I wish the game could have been a little more skill on both sides. No passing and both goalies gave up a weak goal.

Apple Valley 2 Lakeville North 1

Results from 1st night

BV-4 Rose-2

Not a whole lot of skill both teams have a couple of good players but not a lot of teamwork.

AV-2 LV N-1

This game was one sided. AV has 5 or6 good players and play like a well coached unit. Lvn just got nothing going they have 1 good player very little teamwork.score did not represent game by my count AV-26 LVN-11

See you Friday!

Any Bantam A scores from this tournament yet? I would think Burnsville is the favorite, I saw them play in a tournament last weekend and they impressed me.

I think he is talking Peewee A, seeing as Rosemount is not in the Bantam A bracket.

Maybe it was just a bad game for Mahtomedi, but it looks like the loss of Marshall is kicking in...

After morning games

Hastings-5
Anoka-3

Looked to be a little slow but had its moments.#11 on hastings looks to be their only real threat very good player(great hands)should be a good game with hastings/AV.

LVS-3
Tonka-2

Started slow but after that it was full of action. the game turned in the 3rd when a lvs player was kicked out on what I thought was a good hit lvs killed all 5min and then #7 went to work for lvs and scored the game winner. Both teams are equal.

EV-4
C.I.-0

Sloppy play. But again it had its moments.

Peewee A - Burnsville Tournament

Post by hockeychick »

Peewee A
Cambridge/Isanti 3
Burnsville 1

Quite the game very questionable referee calls. Total nailbiter game till the end.

Cambridge/Isanti 4
Rosemoount 3

Cambridge came out right away and scored 3 goals in 1st period, resurface and 2nd period no goals for either, 3rd period rosemount scored 3 goals tieing goal 1.5 minutes left in the period. CI responded with a score 22 seconds left for the win. Exciting ending.

Champlain Park 1
Minnetonka 7

Champlain Park 2
Lakeville South 5

Champlain park was with lakeville till end of second period, fighting off 6 minutes of penalties in end of the 2nd. 3rd period opened up scoring for lakeville south and no turning back.

Hey Chuck instead of listening to these teams brag about themselves why don't you just go to blazehockey.org and see the results for yourself,
What they fail to inform you is how many 3 on 5 goals were scored. D6 refs. very very bad. I truly believe MN hockey is trying to put an end to hitting.

Just my option.
