Out of control parent stories ...

Post by Northland »

U14 girls district game a couple of years ago....

Second period, one of my girls skating with the puck, girl from other team takes a run at her and ends up on the ice for a while. To make matters worse the injured girl also received a charging penaly.

I'm assuming it was her father banging on the glass, screaming at the ref, and my player. To make matters worse, he tried to get into our locker room between periods, and had to be physically restrained.

That was a bad one ... :?

My son was telling me a story that I thought was humorous.

During a particular game, he was in the bench area standing by one of his linemates. He looked over and saw one of their teammates getting hand signals from the player's father after a whistle. He commented to his friend what he had seen. His friend told him that his Dad does the same thing.

I learned later that the coaches were aware of that and had instructed the kid not to look up in the stands. I wonder if the kid is confident enough to play on his own when Dad is not there.

Sad but true

I've seen a few fastpich softball pitchers getting signals from parents also.

I was playing in a peewee game over at osseo and one of the parents kids got a penalty and the parent started spazzing out. Eventually sombody called the cops and cops arrived and everybody thought everything was going to be ok, until the out of control parent tackles one of the cops onto the ground. The other two cops quickly jumped on the guy and pulled him off the cop and handcuffed him, and escorted him out of the arena. Everybody was left looking around thinking what the heck just happened, I couldnt even believe it. Haha thats about as crazy as a fan can get!

Jimmy Buffet said it very well....."there's a fine line between Saturday night and Sunday morning" or if you prefer, George Carlin's "tonight's forecast....darkness

my favorite is, "it's better to be hated for who I am then loved for who I'm not 8)
