Which game? HELP!

Post by Govs93 »

I need help deciding which game to go to tonight. Neither are premier matchups (which is probably why I'm indecisive), but they're both in my neighborhood. I'll provide updates of whichever is decided.

Irondale @ Hopkins

Maple Grove @ Armstrong

I think MG-Armstrong. :D

And Breakout hot mom factor is kind of dying out by the time the kids are in HS :P

CNT...I completely disagree with that....unless of course; they've spent an hour a day in the tanning salon where they come out orange and wrinkled.

I wouldn't do that....because the popcorn usually is a bit too salty =P~ .....to prove my point they've had guys throwing it on the ice instead of eating it. O:)

Good lord - you guys managed to turn this thread sideways in a hurry.

Should I have added a poll option to include "Go to both arenas and stalk minivans in the parking lots"?

You've already seen Maple Grove. Either you watch them again to see how they fare against a normal team or you check out Irondale-Hopkins.

One option you didn't list is to stay home and watch Eden Prairie at Eagan on Fox Sports North.

Considering the alternatives, you can never go wrong with the Charlie Brown Christmas. Even if you've seen it 40 times, the 41st viewing is a nostalgic trip.

Govs and his very "Charlie Brown like" hairline will be in attendance at the MG/Armstrong clash this evening while his DVR captures the holiday magic of the Peanuts gang.

Any reports from the game? Anything impressive on either team, I saw armstrong won 5-2.

It wasn't exactly the prettiest game I've ever seen. Armstrong ran 2 lines most of the night, and their first line was solid. Nobody spectacular, but they were all solid players. I will say that while there wasn't a whole lot of spectacular offense from them, they did a great job of back checking and blocking shots all night long. They made an effort to play both ways.

Maple Grove wore out a path to the penalty box. They keep shooting themselves in the foot with dumb penalties. Some calls were a little iffy, but they have to be more disciplined. I've already seen Maple Grove 3 times this year, and I've seen the same similar problem in all 3 games... they let their opponents way to close to the net. There have been a lot of rebound goals against them, and they have to figure out a way to clear it out. It's weird because they have some size, but skaters still keep getting through.
