Mickelson/Coborn- Park Rapids

Post by SiouxRecruit »

I had never really heard of him at all and he looked like a very good player with a nice shot...he played 1st line and had 3 goals for his first varsity game against Silver Bay....and another standout besides Lehrke and Mickelson was Tucker Coborn...he played second line and had 2 goals..they were all fun to watch..Lehrke ended the game with 3 assists..lots of chances for Lehrke but the puck didnt find its way into the net...over all i thought the team played OK...they have some stuff to work on... the first 2 lines looked very strong while Mark Smith the Goalie was on top of his game..he will have a great year!!Good luck Park Rapids!

Park Rapids 7
Silver Bay 0

Ummmm.....they did play Silver Bay, right??? Let's see these two superstars play against the top 5 in the section before you start singing their praises. I haven't seen them play, but most of Park's sophomores did play Bantam B hockey last year. Not sure why or how a kid that played B hockey last year hops right on the Varsity squad. Do you not have tryouts over there??? If you are saying that Park is relying on Sophomores that played Bantam B hockey last year, then they will not last past the first round in the sections. However, they will have an awesome record...

Dispy they did play silver bay....who called them superstars?...They just looked like good players...I dont even know if he is from Park Rapids for one...so obviously you know more about the kid than I do...Park hardly has enough for a JV team so Im doubting tryouts....and nobody said PR is relying on sophmores...and our one sophmore is arguably one of the top D-men is section 8a...so on your 4th post you go run your mouth about players I was ASKING about...and another thing they are a top 5 team in the section..so im sure they/he would do just fine....I said he looked like a good player with a nice shot...not a super star....comon now

Mickelson played in PR his whole life until last yr when he decided to move down to Arizona where he has family who lives down there. He continued to play hockey down there last yr and then decided to move back up this summer to Park Rapids.

From what little i have seen, hes not a bad little player. He's a little small but he's pretty gritty and seems to have a knack for putting the puck in the net, which is something PR has been looking for, someone who can bear down and bang home all of the back door passes from Lehrke instead of having them be cross corner dumps as they deflect off sticks and go into the corner.

With the hard work of Hensel on the left side of this line, should be able to get a lot done for the Panthers.

Hmm, so i guess moving back home to be with his family would make him a recruit then eh? Seems to me that has been the case else where, if i remember right... :?

No recruiting here, coaches didn't even know about him until they heard he was attending capt's practice.

Glad to see SB is son concerned though, it makes a panther fan like myself feel so warm and fuzzy knowing how much intrest he has in the matter.

Just for art and other newer 'bored' members.

Warroad fans on this board took heat on TJ's family moving to Warroad to be near family. Thus; TJ was a recruit.
I do not think SB is too concerned about PR. 8)

So he's lived in PR for all those years, moved away for only one year, but the coaches didn't know he existed? How's that? You PR people are my favorite...but, but, its different :D
