The only chance Burnsville has to stop Edina's top line is if Aaron Ness Somehow is able to transfer Burnsville and is allowed to play for this game

no way your gonna tell me that mike becker is better than randy johnson.. randy is a big reason why they beat holy angels and did good in the post season because he got hot. mike becker doesnt even have the starting position yet, sturly is playin on saturday and i talked to sturly and he said that schlink is gettin in the varsity rotation as well

Ness will be double shifting then

The strength of the Hornets is that they have (2) scoring lines. Lee, Leer and C. Gaarder scoring 7 last weekend and Budish, Everson and Co. Gaarder scoring 4 in wins over Maple Grove and Wayzata. Giles todate has started Lee's line which creates a mismatch for the Budish line. Both lines are very effective in disrupting the flow for the other team. The point being pick your poison or bring two very solid defensive lines to the game.

And don't forget Edina's solid defensive core.

Yes, I stand corrected. Gleason leads four returning D and a very steady and Elite league experienced goalie in Caschetta.

I'm glad to see a big time matchup this early in the season . . . its a great tool that these teams can use to match themselves up for the post season. This might expose some weaknesses that need to be cleaned up in the course of the season.

With all this being said --- I like Edina 5-4 may take an overtime.

On paper Edina is the better team, but that is the why you have to play the games. Great early season matchup. The winner has the upper hand at grabing the # 1 seed for sectionals. Which is the toughest section in the state.

This game in short is pretty much Budish, Leer, Gleason, Everson, the Gaardners, Lee, Cashetta and company vs Barnes and Hendrickson and company.....I like Edinas Chances

i still havent seen a defense shut down Bvilles first line since they started playin together last year, they raped the holy angels d(couple d1 stars on that line) and put 3 in on grand rapids last year in 2 minutes. not to mention they smoked the blaine d for a couple as well. they also lit up every other lake conference team last year.

Edina obviously has the edge in this game. It is one of the toughest games on Edina's schedule and it will be a good game for Edina. Edina will take this game 6-2 because they need to come out strong this wich they have not done the past two games. I think they are past that now and they will come out real strong and take this game. But if they don't come out strong Burnsville will still not have a chance because once Edina gets behind they get back in the game fast and then they take the game away from their oppenents fast.

5-2
Edina-5
Bville-4

A couple of bounces in their way and I think Bville may make an upset. If Edina doesnt come out flying (ie roch century) they will be down and have to claw back. I think Bville will be better than Century at keeping a lead...

if burnsville pulls off the major upset, who do you think moves into #1(or 2) in the state. The only way this will happen is if everything clicks for burnsville and edinas goalie has an off night.

i think for an upset Edina has an off night and by that I mean the team doesnt go to the game and of course Aaron Ness Playing for Burnsville like I previously stated.

9 Edina

3 Burnsville

Way too much talent on this Edina team for them to lose. I'm not taking anything away from B'ville cuz they certainly are a great team but Edina's depth is gonna be too much for B'ville to handle. B'ville beat Jefferson in OT earlier in the year 5-4 and their top line did good but the other lines didn't follow through as well. When they go up againest the caliber players Edina has on their squad its gonna be tough. Any win by B'ville no matter what they are ranked in state will be considered a huge upset.....I'd love to see B'ville win but i dont believe it's gonna happen

Edina 7
B'ville 3

If you plan on going to this game get there early. I just heard that they expect a sellout and tickets will go on sale Friday @ 9:00am. Should be a great game.
