Leaning towards East...barely. Hopefully not having Joe Arbour available for this game won't hurt much.

From what I saw tonight, good balance but it's hard to tell based on playing Central in their first game tonight.

Wayzata certainly has a rough early schedule. Edina, Hill, Duluth East.

Common opponents sometimes don't mean much, but we might be an early gauge on how DE compares to the best Metro teams.

Edina 5-1 over Wayzata
Hill 5-0 over Wayzata

Everyone else is beating them so why can't we... I'll go with DE.

Though the Central game is never a very good barometer, East did get a chance to show off its impressive depth. I doubt Wayzata is over its early struggles. It will certainly be a key game in seeing how East, and the rest of the northern powers for that matter, stack up against metro teams this year. Wayzata won the last time these two played in the DECC, 5-4 2 years ago.

Arbour has a 2-game MSHSL suspension. I'm not sure why but can't say I'm entirely shocked. He'll be back for Minnetonka next week.

Prediction:
East 5
Wayzata 2

Neither, unless the News Tribune is lying (which it has been known to do).
