Amen... they're way too purple now on the HD. Especially when they wear the purple pants. Crazy.

The most embarrsing part about this whole Crookston thing for me is that I played against them for a couple of years and I still got it wrong. I don't know what I was thinking. It was many, many years ago.

Must be that public school education.

Unfortunately, no. Not full time anyway. Select Twins, Wolves & Wild games are, but no Gophers, no high school.

However, we were fortunate enough to see the Gopher pucksters get pounded by the Wolverines (who wear navy blue) in sparkling HD on the Big Ten Network last Saturday!

Everything will be in HD soon, just a few more years of progress.

Heck, eventually we'll have 3-D TV, little holograms running around on our floor, they'll figure it out.

I can see it now, AP running across my kitchen floor.

Maybe. Fluke sounds right but I dunno, it doesnt feel like it completely captures it.

What was it like? Come on man, think.

Sorry, I am just locked up on this one and can't think of it.

Since you started it and you're "locked up", how about we lock this thread up before someone calls you a liberal?

Why, what ever do you mean?

We dont say such things here.

People don't think those kinds of thoughts here.

We aren't in Kansas anymore .....Toto.

True, it's easy to lock up people's thoughts here but it's so much nicer that way, dont you agree?

What is this place you ask? Well, just folow the yellow brick road.

Thats right CNT, the man behind the curtain is not really in control.

We control our own destiny , even if sometimes those that watch over us are like Scarecrow.

But it would take a wicked Witch to screw things up now.

The Twins are wheelin and dealin.

The Twolves almost came back to win.

The Vikings are only 1 game under .500.

The Gopher Hockey team has a real shot at a split vs Tech this weekend.

I am going to a high school game tonight.

I gotta tell yah, "It's Like a Dream Come True"

That sounds right but ........I dunno, we just seem to not be able to put it in one word or phrase.

Well, keep trying. Sometimes we just draw a blank or get locked out of our thoughts.

Then, things change and you wake up in your own bed sorrounded by family and friends and your little dog too and "It's Like a Dream Come True"

See, all you have to do is start a positive thread and things turn around quickly.

The Vikings are now all square and ready to go on a tear with AP back.

THe BCS picture has been all cleared up with minimum controversy and everybody is happy.

The TWolves are already at 2 wins.

The Wild are hangin tough.

Last but not least, the hockey Gophers were able to manage a split with the powerful MI Tech (I dont even know their nickname) team in a battle of WCHA powers. If the current trend continues , The Don's dream job could become a reality.

I heard Father Flanagan was in town to watch the games this weekend. Can that Boy's Town job now be within reach?

If that happened , Ill tell yah, "Its Like a Dream Come True"

Still licking wounds from Saturday night,
The Pirates are preparing for the next big fight.

Tomorrow it comes and it will be an exam,
For into the town roll the Roseau Ram.

All clad and green and trimmed in white,
And hopefully pushed to a three period fight.

With Oliver’s return it’s like turning back the clocks,
Only now he’ll be standing in the visitor’s box.

If the clock’s not runnin’ come the final frame,
These young Pirates will have had a decent game.

If the bar seems set low it is not really the case,
They’re just a year away, from being a part of the chase.

So bring it on and let’s drop the puck,
Cause with reckless abandon they will muck.

They’ll take a little ground and then give it back,
But never once think of quitting the attack.

And when it’s all done theImage flag will arise,
Then set sail again seeking another stolen prize.

After all it’s the Rams and what can you do,
High School hockey……it’s a dream come true.

It sounds like the Pirates are rollin
Up in flannel shirt land
Slapshooter's beloved Crookston
Is where they'll make their stand

Packerboy has been there
Oh no, not to school
A little snow and some wind
Stay off of Highway 2

IS is making them famous
Right here on this bored
With him as their backer
The Pirates cant be ignored

So, its always a real treat
To hear about a team dressed in blue
If they play da Rams tough

Right as rain SS.

You were the only one who predicted the Rams were "out of it" last year and you, of course , meant out of their recent slump in failing to make it to St Paul during Lent.

They won it all just like you said from the start going "Against The Grain" of popular opinion.

Now , your beloved Rams will try to defend the ground they captured last year. Not an easy task even with top players returning as the Catholics proved last year.

But a crazy section 8 team is once again the defending champ and "It's Like a Dream Come True" because the trophy is not being passed around from one huge suburban metro school to another.

The behemouth public suburban schools will once again mount a counter attack. The thought of it is ..well "Its Like a Nightmare"

But I will go "Out On a Limb" early and say for the 4th year in row, the fat cat, big publics will be denied by a team that isnt one.

Who that will be , of course, is still "Up or Grabs"

I don't understand the picture. Is that from Monty Python or something?
