East-Cloquet is the biggest rivalry, hands down. It's not only the players from each team with hatred, it is every single stand for the opposing sides hating each other. There have been numerous fights on and off the ice at both the DECC and the barn in Cloquet. This has been an intense rivalry for as long as I can remember. My favorite so far was the section 7AA championship in 2005 when Cloquet was the #1 seed and East was #2. Went to doulbe OT when Kyle Michela scored his first and only high school hockey goal to win it for the Hounds. What a game.

I'm pretty sure they haven't played in the abrn since about 1980
If the stats were still on the roseauramshockey website you'd see hands down its Roseau vs Warroad. Also it would help if they were in the same class. (preferebly AA for more bragging rights
)
For the northern rivals:
Traditional rival:
Roseau vs Warroad (mutual respect and tradition)
Growing rival:
Roseau vs Moorhead (mutual hatred and a ticket to the state tourney..most years)
And no i don't mean they really hate each other. But anyone who was at last seasons games, both regular season and the section finals, know that the rivalry is intense both on the ice, and in the stands!

They played in the Barn until at least 1994. Can't remember exactly when the new CARC opened, so someone from C-town can fill us in here but my guess is 1996.puckman22 wrote:HoundHockeyForever wrote:East-Cloquet is the biggest rivalry, hands down. I think that in the past few years CDH vs. STA has been a good rivlalry game and has in the past. I think that instead of going back and forth from STA and Highland Ice arena they need to move the game to a neutral site. I think that Aldrich would be a great venue for this game, abour same distance from each school, both can pack the stadium. The game has been close everytime the last few years they just need a better venue to make it that much better.
...since that game has not had a good venue I think the the WBL and Hill game has always been nuts...Always fun at alrich and even when they meet in the colesium
STA-CDH
WBL-Hill
