OOPS!! I actually managed to catch this game tonight. A very close game, well played by both teams. The Horgan kid and the Johnson kid were outstanding for Mound.

15-8 on the year

Post by Irishmans Shanty »

8A was on the wrong side of four one goal games last night, two of which needed OT for a result.

Sat Dec 8
Crookston @ Blake
Thief River Falls @ St. Paul Johnson: Gov's partied all night with The Cup
Warroad @ Orono: They need it to avoid being swept in the South
Roseau @ East Grand Forks: Now that the band concert is over, drop the puck!
Wadena-Deer Creek @ Kittson Central: Hallock is beautiful this time year.
Park Rapids @ St. Bernard's: this schedule will produce wins
St. Cloud Apollo @ Bemidji
Lake of the Woods @ Mound-Westonka
Moose Lake @ Bagley-Fosston

25-9 so far this year

Post by Irishmans Shanty »

8A has returned home to the wind swept arctic none too soon, the 3-7 Southern swing over the weekend has most of them back at the drawing board.

Tues Dec 11
Bagley-Fosston (#150) @ Red Lake Falls (#142), oddly enough this wasn't included in the "week 3 boblee pick 'em"
East Grand Forks (#53) @ Grand Forks Red River (N.D.), Should the Wave prove me wrong, I will trumpet them as the current king of 8A
Warroad (#41) @ Bemidji (#56)
Detroit Lakes (#96) @ Park Rapids (#80)
Lake of the Woods (#105) @ International Falls (#25)

Well, there is a reason why I didn't post the bottom half of the picture.

Let's just say you could you use a longer cloak or beard for coverage.

Right now even without seeing TRF...looks to be a two horse race between the Warriors & Elves. The PR fans will get a reality check after this Friday. The Wadena crowd crowed just like this three years ago and you don't hear much from the peanut gallery from there much anymore. They wised up and the PR faithful will too...eventually.

I played for PR 10 years ago, and I would've never dreamt we'd even be on the level of Bemidji, Warroad or any of the solid northern teams with alot of tradition. I believe my senior year we scrimmaged Bemidji's HS team and lost like 10-1. They still won't put us on the schedule, either. You have to remember, PR was about as good as Bagley until about 5-6 years ago. Maybe that's why some in here don't understand the hype that PR fans bring to this "bored". It's a program that's come a long ways with very little resources. I think that gets misleading to some in here that think us PR fans think our team is all great...but really it's just a clog of fans who've never had a glimmer of hope of winning anything until recently - hence the hype, or overhype as some see in here.
