When hell freezes over, I'll play hockey there too.

We can't, we're (Rogers) not in the pollGeorge Blanda wrote:Well, it'll be either Rogers, Cathedral, or Tech vs. Apollo in the Championship.
It's two weeks away, who knows.

And we better start playing like a team too!

My question is why did they change the pairings from past years? As long as I can remember (which usually isn't too long) but Tech always played Apollo or Cathedral and the other would play Sauk in the first round of GCC. Is tech scared that their AA power house team will lose to now either class A town rivals? I think it was Cathedrals year to play them in the first round too. I wouldn't be surprised if Hommerding was the one who set up their first round push over game against sartell... I guess being a powerful AA school they should want to make it through the first round with ease.

It'll guarantee each team at least one good game. There's always an upside. Can't Never Tried wrote:Well thanks a lot!! now Rogers has to play the real St Cloud team in the 1st roundDonkey9 wrote:My question is why did they change the pairings from past years? i would love to see a cathedral/tech matchup...even if it isnt the final...that way tech is FORCED to prove who is the best team in St. Cloud instead of claiming to be....I hear tech people saying they play roseau, they play moorhead....seriously...whats the difference if you can NEVER beat them? I for one see Tech losing to Cathedral and CHS winning the Granite City Classic

I think they are planning on doing that again this year. Based on the time schedualing there is 2 3/4 hours between the 1st and the 2nd and then the 3rd and the 4th game. That should be plenty of time to have 20min periods... The 20min periods are fun to watch, it gives you a chance to see which teams have been putting in the time conditioning...

Is this an Apollo tournament?STC18 wrote:I believe we're forgetting three teams in this poll.
This would also explain why the other three lower bracket teams don’t have a chance in the POLL. Let alone in possible Apollo eye’s.
Talk about unbalanced upper/lower brackets.
Looks like a set-up here for a cake walk for Apollo to say they made the championship. Reminds of YOUTH tournaments set-up.
Sauk Rapids, bring game and you could have fun Holiday weekend.
If it’s TECH or Cathedrals tournament, you guys have the balls to at least be daring enough by giving yourself some competition. Way to go!
Thanks, that is exactly what I needed. Gotta plan the work schedule!Donkey9 wrote:http://www.rinkwriter.com/GCC/2007gcclassic.htmlAnywhere I can see the brackets and game times?

FYI, this poll was created by a Tech player.
