Eastview vs Lakeville North

Post by etune21 »

ok so lakeville north started out the year lookin like a pile of garbage on the ice. since i have noticed some good improvement from this young team that tonight beat EP 5 to 4.. i think EP is a better team then Eastview, so who do you take for this game? any predictions?

If LN can take advantage of feinhages temper and get him to sit in the box like the rosemount LN has a very good chance.

etune, LN did not look like garbage at all in the beginning of the season. They won there first game 7-1 vs Kennedy and then they played a pretty good game against Burnsville and lost 3-1. THEN they played bad vs AV when they tied 2-2. They threw that game away and should have won. Since then they beat Eagan 3-0 and EP 5-4OT. So to say that they looked like garbage is a little bit of an overstatement.

EV on the other hand has kind of gone back and forth, although they have played a little tougher competition than LN so far. (Edina, EP, Rosemount. compared to LNs tough games EP, Burnsville)

Eastview is pretty 1st line heavy. A lot of there points come from them and that could play into LNs hand because there 3rd line did shut down B-villes 1st line.

Prediction
Eastview-2 (Maloney, Friedman)
Lakeville North-2 (Johnson, Foster)

But what is a Huge factor is having 1 more player than the other team.
Lakeville's gained momentum and confidence from a big win carries over

You think Johnson will get two playing D? That would impress me but I dont see it happening. He is one of there best players but predicting 2 goals from his is kind of lofty. So is a hat trick from Vivant. He is sort of stuck on there 3rd line for some reason, he would be more productive playing with Saunders and Foster. But if LN does score 5 goals I definatly think they will win but I see it being lower scoring. Maybe 3-2 or 2-1. Unless someone gets an empty net.

I agree Eastview is 1st line top heavy, but in the last two games they havent really factored into the scoring sheet as much as you would think. Last night all 7 goals for EV came from the 2nd line, and 2nd line D.

i think this will be a good game, eastview will probably control the play for the most part but thats how lakeville plays, good defense and opportunistic forwards may help LN pull two upsets in a row..

1 goal game either way

If lakeville wins and gets back to back wins versus EP and Eastview then I'll watch out for them....but i think Eastview overall is better and i don't think they'll let this one slip away

I pretty much agree with goldenhockey, LN is sort of on my radar right now but unless to do more than just one upset against EP I dont see them breaking the top 5 in the Lake (which is not a dis the Lake just has 5 good teams).

Although Im kind of going against my statement above I am going to pick Lakeville only because I WANT them to win. (Id like to see Rosemount or Burnsville win the conference)

North put together one good gae that beat a good EP team. They also looked horrible when I saw them play AV. Who says they don't play that game on saturday? Besides beating EP they haven't done anything yet this year to prove to me they are a contender, they are pretenders. Could they play well and win? They could, EV would have to be the favorite coming in to the game at least by a little bit. Although I would love to see North win this one I gotta be realistic from what I have seen from both teams.

lakeville did look a little shakie against apple valley, not that bad, but a little shakie. but with recent wins over eagan and ep LN is gonna be carrying some momentum into this game, so if they comeout strong like they did against ep and eagan, they will win in a close one.

EV may also be a little pumped up for this one too because right now this is how the Lake looks for conference records...

Jefferson (5-1)
Rosemount (4-1)
Burnsville (4-1)
Lakeville North (3-1-1)
Eastview (3-1-1)
etc.

So both LN and EV will want to come out and play well and win because LN is going to want to stay near the top of the conference for as long as possible and EV definatly needs a win now because they have a tough stretch coming up (Burnsville, Minnetonka, Shwans Cup, Jefferson) so if they want to contend for the conference championship they need to a win because they could go a little losing streak soon.

Prediction-LN rides some momentum early but EV needs this one too bad to let it slip and makes a little comeback

It's not as tough as it looks, they are in the 3rd Tier in the tournament.

Games over EV won 2-0

They controlled the play and easily could have scored more. Larson missed two breakaways and they had alot more shots than LN. At the end of the second i believe the shots were 24-12 for EV. LN really only had 2 or 3 good chances to score.

well eagles you must live in av cuz the game i saw was alot more even than that... lakeville had the puck in the offensive end probably more than eastview and had chances with the goalie pulled at the end.. close game could have went either way
