Apollo 7
Monticello 1

Monticello feels Apollo's frustration after their loss to Cathedral.

Yet another fine example of the St. Cloud public school system...

Why does followthepuck have it 5-0 Tech wins?? Just another blunder??

I actually watched this game and it wasn't pretty. Apollo is not a good TEAM as some of the other posts suggest. Their goaltending was suspect at best. Lots of HUGE juicy rebounds by both goalies if players on both teams would have crashed the posts they would have bagged a bunch of easy goals. Apollo was behind 5 - 3 until MAML took a CFB MAJOR & Game with about 3 and a half minutes left. It was definitely a CFB and I like the fact the ref had the nuts to call it as such instead of the usual CFB Lite (boarding) but I thought the Major was a bit overboard. Apollo scored with 23 seconds left to tie and then scored on the first shot in the extra stanza. MAML was gassed from playing short handed for so long. One of the MAML captains took a rough with about 9 minutes left asked the ref where they were going for dinner after the game..got both guns and then had a major meltdown and was asked to leave. So MAML will be two players short for their next game. Apollo was on the ropes and MAML let them off the hook. I'll point out that #34 for Apollo has to learn banging your stick on the ice when a teammate doesn't catch a pass really doesn't help. I liked #24 for Apollo he had the Hatty and I thought MAML's best players were #3 and #24 tonight. Two not real good teams but a HS hockey game on a week night beats most anything.

Hockemeyer with a hat trick.
Tom Brown with the game winner.
Butkowski NO PENALTIES!

Denardo could not keep his team composed in the third. Lost 2 players to game DQ's for stupid stuff. The second was a check from behind which gave Apollo a 5 minute pp and a chance to win which they quickly took advantage of! Fun game!

You are right. Goaltending was not the strong point tonight. Hampton was shaky at best. This was not his typical play. He is a much better goalie than he showed tonight.
