Mayo has some stud forwards who can really crash the net. Tom Alexander and Charlie Thauwald can really wire the puck so if Owatonna can keep them down, who knows what they'll do against West.
I expect this to be closer than last years games which West swept 6-1,6-3. Owatonna seems to play pretty close to the vest in looking at their scores. West likes to run and gun. Which style will win out we will have to see. This is a big game in the Big 9 as this is the only time this year these two teams play. Look for a fast paced exciting game.
I haven't seen anything except for the numbers on Owatonna's goalie Wobschall? Does anyone have any insight on how he's been playing. Judging from what I see it is going to be a battle fought between the pipes. Bruggeman is going to be put through what I feel is his first big test of the season. I think he'll have no problem as long as he keeps his head on straight. He can't let a goal or two get to him (if our stand-up defense allows anyone through.) we've shown that after that first one the rest seem to follow. Davey, if Bruggeman has a solid night I think he can shut them out. If he is off, I say 6-3 West.

If west gets many undisciplined penalties, they are going to have a very tough time beating Owatonna. They might have gotten away early because they haven't had strong competition yet. If they take their minds off the game, Owatonna will beat them on the powerplay. 5 on 5, this will be a great matchup to watch. I know I am not going to miss this one.

If West can play smart and limit penalties I think they'll take this one 5-2, but if they take penalties early and get down it is going to be a tough uphill battle for them the rest of the game.

Mankato West - #4.

Red Wing - #8.

New Prague - #17.

Rochester Lourdes - #18.

Albert Lea - "team to watch."

Somebody sure likes what they see in Scarletville.
Don't sweat the small stuff.
It's all small stuff.

Any team with West's schedule could probably have the state's top scorers.

West seems to be a very good team, lack of competion is obviously why you can't build them up yet. As the season continues we will get to see how real they are. It starts with tomorrow night.

I'll second that and looking at Owatonna's schedule it's not that much tougher than West. If they do beat Owatonna by one or two touchdowns then they'll start turning some heads.

Owatonna beat Albert Lea, Mayo, and Century all on the road. I consider those quality wins.

I think it will be a very close game tomorrow. Not sure which way it will go though.

Owatonna V. West tomorrow will probably be the best game to be played so for in this section this year.

Very true. This section has some good games in schedule. It will be interesting who is victorious through both games.

The Red Wing/Lourdes game was very good. I still think they're the top 2 teams in the section.

That would be "too". Who's the idiot now?

I believe he/she is allowed to think what he/she wants.

I don't necessarily disagree with him/her. However, West and Albert Lea may disagree.

Well, let's see, Owatonna and West are two of only ten undefeated teams in the state. I don't see how Albert Lea v.s. Lourdes is bigger than that.
I guess we'ss see

maybe its because AL vs Lourdes between 2 teams in the section, where as west and owatonna arent in the same section.

Owatonna's only good win was against A.L. And like I said before, West's biggest game was against New Prague, who has played a light schedule this season so far.

Like I said before, I don't think you can say anything about West or Owatonna until they play each other and/or some more evenly-matched games.

NP has played Orono and Denfeld, two quality opponents. I don't think you know what the heck you are talking about when it comes to knowing which teams are strong or weak

I don't think I ever said they were strong or weak..... but maybe I missed something.

NP has played Orono...... Wow, if that is your logic, good job. Orono has lost to both Breck and Red Wing as well...

NP has played D.D..... ah yes... by a landslide.

You didn't get the score from the West/NP game? 7-1? Yeah, that sounds like it was a close one.

My whole point is, though both Owatonna and West are undefeated, it doesn't surprise me. They haven't played anyone who could challenge them.
