A good question nikebauer.

I am as surprised as anyone that they are 6-6 but dont get too carried away about 6-6.

AP has been a big surprise. Everybody liked the pick but nobody expected this.

#18 has been very good and unexpected and #7 is coming around.

I said before the season started that I have seen every Viking team and never have I seen one with so little talent at the skill positions.

The 2007 draft will go down as one of the best ever because half way thru the season I will say that I heve never seen a Viking team with so much young talent and potential at the skill positions.

I hope they make the playoffs not because they will go anywhere but it would be good experience for the future. This team may have a bright future.

The Vikings started winning and they still needed a buyout to sellout last week, I think the bandwagon still has plenty of room. The Vikings still lose out on nearly every tie breaking scenario so the Vikings need to win out which is possible given their schedule but how many years have we heard that?

I heard on FSR the other night that the Vikings season turned aroun when Childress was confonted by the veterens and told he had better straighten up. He wasn't coaching to his players strengths and that the Williamson debocle was the final straw. Chilly payed Williamson, quit trying to force his offense on other teams and decided to run the dang ball to open up the pass and it worked.

I'm not convinced in the coach or QB yet but I agree with Packerboy, there is reason for optimism.

But goldy, I didnt think they would win 6 games all season and now we are talking about tie breakers.

I have questioned the fans blind support for this team in the past along with the disproportionate media attention they get.

But honestly, right now, I have to question the lack of support at the gate.

AP alone should sell the place out.

I am glad to say I saw Gayle Sayers play at the old Met.

AP is the same... only the updated version. Gotta get out and see him.

Eagles (5-7)

Here's what needs to happen this Sunday
Giants over Eagles
Jags over Panthers
Cowboys over Lions
Seahawks over Cardinals
Falcons over Saints

You never know and maybe I'm wrong, but I think its down to the Vikings and AZ.

The Lions are reeling and they have to play the Boys and GB at GB.Thats 8 losses for sure.

No 5-7 team is good enough to run the table regardless of schedule so the most wins among that group will be 8.

Washington wont beat the Vikings in the Dome.

Ive got our Queens down for 3 more wins.

AZ could match that and we have a tie but thats the way I see it happening, maybe

The Saints could win out to finish 9-7, they have the potential to be a good team if they get rolling. I really don't see the Vikes winning out though, the NFC is a mess besides Dallas and Green Bay.

The Lions are an absolute train wreck right now, though in the NFL trainwrecks turn into dynamo's and visa versa on a weekly basis. Shoud the Lions beat the Cowboys at Ford Field Sunday they'll be in good shape, their last game at Green Bay will mean nothing for the Packers other than a chance to get someone hurt so I think the Lions win that one, leaving a tough game at San Diego, the Lions go 2-2 and finish at 8-8.

The Cardinals go down the next 2 weeks at Seattle and at New Orleans they'll end up 8-8 as well, though they could tank against the much improving and healthy Rams and end up 7-9. If they win though they move within a game of Seattle and Seattle has a much tougher schedule. The Vikings can cross off the Cardinals with a loss on Sunday.

The Redskins would be in if their next two games were at home but they won't win at the Giants or at Minnesota, the Cowboys may have to win to secure home field but I doubt it, the Skins end up 6-10.

New Orleans wins out and ends up 9-7, I said this 4 weeks ago with my pocketbook in Las Vegas and they went 1-3 so don't listen to me on anything concerning the Saints. They're the most enigmatic team in the NFL and blowing their game at home against Tampa Bay last week could be a season killer.

Minnesota caught a break when Chicago's season effectively ended last night, unless Denver is still in the hunt the Vikings should win out. I thought this last year and they tanked. One thing we know the Vikings are great with the lead, a disaster when behind. The teams they play should give the Vikings a chance to play with the lead. They go 3-1 and end up 9-7 needing New Orleans to lose to get into the playoffs.

The Playoffs end up: 1)Dallas, 2) Green Bay, 3) Tampa Bay, 4) Seattle, 5) New York, 6) Minnesota

and that dang 40-1 ticket I plunked down $50 on the Saints to win the NFC prior to their demolishing Jacksonville goes uncashed.

It's not beyond the realm of possibility that they can catch the Giants too. They're only 1 game back and hold the tie breaker, and NY still has to deal with the Patriots.

I could see the Giants dropping their last two, they go to Buffalo and finish up at home with New England.

It's also conceivable that both Wash and New Orleans leadfrog the Vikings and NY. Tonight is important for the Vikes but next week is huge, if they lose that one they'll also lose the tie breaker to Wash.

I'm right there with them. I was down on this club before the season and into the early going. I'll admit I was wrong... it's nice to have a pleasant surprise in this town for a change (I mean the Vikes winning... not me being wrong... although that's a surprise in itself!

).

I still don't see them making a trip to Arizona this season, but just being in a playoff chase this late in the season is far more than I would have hoped for.

I dont know if any of these teams will win out. Usually 7-6,7-7 teams dont.

But they need to win the games that they should win. With the Vikings, the first one of those is tonight.

At home on Monday night isnt what it used to be but its still an advantage.

I am as surprised as anyone that they are playing meaningful Dec games.

Things have happened that a lot of fans didnt expect. The following are some of those things:

1. AP. Most figured he would help out right away but the young man is a natural born world shaker. (thank you Dragline)

2. The defensive coaches finally figured out that they dont have pass rushing linemen and that in the NFL it is important to put pressure on the passer ....so lets bring some people every so often.

5. The players got sick of losing

6. Things have bounced their way.

7. The offensive line is earnig their pay....finally

8. They havent played anybody good

9. There isnt anybody that good to play

Hard to figure.
At 2-5 they led the league in rushing and rush def.
Now ESPN says they are a dangerous playoff team because they lead the league in rushing and rush def.
