Faribault isn't surprising to me.

I thought AL/Winona wouldn't have been so close but Winona's goalie had a good night.

What went wrong in Austin? I was expecting a loss but not a 4-5 goal game. Twinn do you have an injury report? Jet how did you see it?
Those were my predictions! I was banging my head because I expected it to be closer than it needed to be. Although I didn't think the game was ever in jeopardy last night it was close for a little while.

I agree, the game was close last nite for about one minute.
That was the time it took for the Winona adrenalin to wear off after their only goal.

MW is a very good team. Our girls have a lot of work to do. Every girl needs to approach every practice with the determination to become better and strive to learn more about the game.

Sorry to hear that Jet.

Nice job Faribault. We keep playing better. I like how we were left out of this forum today. Maybe it is good luck. But then again, who needs luck, except for RSI.

Go Falcons.

Since we didn't have a 14U team last year the schools all had to develop whatever talent they had leftover. The Rochester schools will be getting some talent off 14U next year but no superstars. JML gets a good center and a couple of decent D. One is relatively new to hockey but is improving fast. CHS gets a girl that used to be a forward but Mac is playing on her D. I thought he was wasting her talent but she is becoming a good D based on the last game I watched. Mayo will get one skilled forward and one good D with a bunch of other players that have upside potential if they choose to work harder at hockey otherwise they will be journey(wo)men. The goalie goes to Mayo or Winona depending upon where she enrolls in school next year. I don't see any of them filling the skates of this years seniors but I think that can be said for almost every team out there. A lot of the players on the 12U teams are in the Mayo boundary but we (JM) have a lock on goalies at the younger ages. I wonder if one can shoot a puck 170 feet and help us score?

Maybe because that nail-biter game against JM isn't on your MSHSL schedule? (just a guess :P :P )

4.) Faribo 3-4
5.) Red Wing 1-6

RSI's SECTION 1A POWER RANKINGS
12/20/2007

1.) Austin 7-5 (undefeated vs. Section 1A opponents)
2.) AL 7-3 (see above)
3.) Northfield 5-5 (lost to AL & Austin, beat Faribo 4-1)
4.) Faribo 4-5
5.) Red Wing 3-7
6.) Waseca 1-8

It's really not that complicated falcons, Austin is #1 until someone beats them. That's something like 17 straight wins against Section 1A. Austin's last loss to a Section 1A opponent was the Section Finals game about 22 months ago!

Hey, I have noticed AL's #5 is starting to get a few assists lately. Is this by accident or on purpose? I bet she shoots, and one of her linemates gets the rebound, therefore she gets the assist. :D

Nice game last night AL, I really LOST a lot of sleep last night with news of your LOSS. It is OK, winning is not everything, just as long as you had fun losing.   :P :P

Great games Faribault and Northfield.( Sorry to hear of Vy's injury, hope she heals quickly). That is the kinder, gentler falcons.

Oh yea, by the way, I know now why the AL girls have been quiet lately. They have a new computer class in school and are learning these new computer terms. These girls are now a little confused and using the term "little", is being kind.

What was with the Redwing win? That really messes up the section.

I'm surprised they only got 2 goals. None of the Nfld girls came ready to play. They were taking dumb penalties and weren't playing their speed. I think Nfld underestimated Red Wing and didn't take them as serious opponents. It was the goal tending that kept the score as close as it was.
