High School Hockey trivia - need your help please

Can anyone tell me what year was the last Sectional Final played at the Met Center. I need this info to settle a friendly wager. Thanks for the help.

Looked in my history of the high school tourney book that I happen to keep at work but it does not list where regional games were played. Sorry...

E-mail MSHSL they actually are quite friendly in providing this type of info, although it may take a week for a response.

I thought they played them there until 1992 then moved Sections 5 & 6 to Mariucci, didn't they?

My guess would be 1993. The place was demo-ed in 1994 - what a waste of a great hockey venue.

I think it was 1993 as well. The 3AA finals were Hill-Murray & Tartan.

What a fun game that was. Had some Tartan friends with and they have a 5-10 minute stretch where they really gave Hill a heck of a game, but in the end the talent level of Hill was too much. We used to get 3 section finals in one day as I recall. Think it was usually 1AA, 1A and then 3AA. Remember watching an Austin team beat Mayo (or possibly JM) in a game and that Austin team was the worst section winner I ever saw (and they somehow won a tourney game).

Great saturday of hockey:
Section 5 final: Jefferson vs. Kennedy (usually)
Section 6 final: Edina vs. whoever (MTKA, Wayzata, Richfield, Armstrong..)

Then a North Stars game at night!
