How is their team selfish? I think its been one of the most unselfish teams they have ever had.

It is the first unselfish team in 5 years. Without Chumley, CI is under .500 for the last few years. Sorry guys, but it's true. And I doubt the A PW will play A BT, the parents don't have the heart for it. As sad as that is to say.
I would expect that the current A peewee team will be playing A bantams, but I don't know about an A peewee or even A squirt team next year. The varsity coach has been pushing for A level teams the last couple years, but I think there is a huge lack of involvement with the youth program that is making it very difficult to sell his theory with parents. He will have a fall meeting with the youth coaches and then won't be seen at a youth game or practice the entire year. It's tough to convince parents that you know what is best for their kids when you have little to no involvement with them.
Hockey is a huge committment from parents in both time and money, I think it's reasonable for them to expect their child to have an enjoyable experience in youth hockey. Youth hockey should be about more than developing the top 3-4 kids for the varsity team. If the varsity coach wants to bring the program up to the next level, he needs to start getting involved at all levels.

LOL, Alright Nipe I am sorry but I am not trying to attack you but as a person who has played in gold old CI, for you to say Chumley and Goldsmith turned around the program is a joke! That team was ok, put them in the old conference they would not have had as good of a record...god miss 8 was a joke their chumleys senoir year. And Chumley was cocky enough to pull attention on him. And Goldsmith sophmore year was by far his best year besides that he was hot/cold. And Z their coach will be there as long as he wants. Not saying he is a good coach, but oh well. There program will be pretty sad for a few years.
Goldsmith save percentage according to startribune his sophomore year was .89 and his junior year was .910. Still in the same conference. And his senior year was around .930. In my opinion of watching him he was alot better his senior year. And for turning around the program is very true in my Opinion. When I graduated he was playin his first varsity year as an 8th grader. We ended up 2-23. When he left his senior year the team had a 20-5 record.
If your arguement is that Auth was better then Goldsmith your insane. And the stats you say dont add up to what it says on prephockeynorth. Either way we both have our own opinions and that was the past. They were good goalies but nothing amazing. Neither could of played for a upper AA team and neither I believe are still playing anywhere now.
Okay folks Rogers welcomed Buffalo to there spiffy arena and brought their whole family as referees called so many Bison penalties the official scorer got writers cramp. I have to believe the Bison were rung up for 50 mins plus of penalties and Rogers less than 10...with that said in the brief periods of this game that were played 5 on 5 the Bison got the best of it but Rogers had some players that impressed me beyond Jensen and Scat. I know Rogers got blown away by Coon rapids but their goalie apparently played better tonight and they have some potential.
As for the Bison it was another case of penalty box blues as they couldn't get their top players going as they spent much of the game killing 5 on 3's and Power Plays...however, in their defense there were many, many, many questionable calls...no sour grapes...reality..and the Bison deserved alot but it really got out of hand when the Bison had to kill 7 mins of the OT and two 5 on 3's...wow!
Even CNT has to admit this got out of control.

Buffalo Rogers game
Can somebody, without bias, give a rundown of the game?
Re: Buffalo Rogers game
I'm without bias in this case, unfortunately I didn't see the gamebuffalobob wrote:Can somebody, without bias, give a rundown of the game?

A Joke right from the beginning !
First off...Roger Player Introductions..very very very long and drawn-out.(sorry, but lame idea)
Many bogus calls, but...Rogers Goalie gave up many many juicy rebounds that the Bison should have capitalized on in the 1st period and they didn't.
I more appalled at the way how the cops handled the game afterwords.
gave one kid a big bloody nose if not broken, and also seen them pushing kids around..they want respect from high school kids ?...well they demonstrated why they don't deserve any.
I won't say that the officials were the deciding factures..The Bison also shot them self's in the foot at times also.
Can't wait for the next match at Buffalo...

It was actually the kids own friend that hit him in the face and not the police, and he did get a broken nose. Unfortunate yet very funny that his own friend did it.mnorth5 wrote: I more appalled at the way how the cops handled the game afterwords.

I do agree with the introductions, way too long. But Zitur game up just as many rebounds as the Rogers goalie, yet both teams did not capitalize. Was a decent game overall imo.mnorth5 wrote:First off...Roger Player Introductions..very very very long and drawn-out.(sorry, but lame idea)

Yes I would agree there were some questionable calls.
But one thing I have to agree with HOF on in some of his past posts, is that the Bison have got to get control of their emotions, and make good decisions.
The one thing I won’t take away from the officials is the hitting from behind, or boarding.
I believe these were the types of calls resulting in a lot of the penalty mins. Including the 5 min. major and game misconduct for fighting, 2-10 for hitting from behind etc., of which I think even one more could have been called on the back boards, but the refs arm was tired

I think the Royals may have got away with one of those hits as well.

There were a few other minor calls that were questionable for sure.
But if you think the calls were that one sided due to home cooking, point out a few instances where they should have been penalized, as Rogers is averaging only 4-5 penalties a game if I’m not mistaken, and 3 of their 7 games have been away.
They play relatively penalty free in most games.
The Bison will give any team a battle as they play very physical style of hockey, which I think leads to the abundance of the penalties, and if the RZ power play were a bit more polished the score could have been much different, or said another way, the Bison has a fine PK unit, even with only three out there, so kudos to them.
Zitur stopped 32 of 34 and a lot of the time shorthanded so I'd say he played very well.
The limited 5-5 play was pretty competitive; Rogers had the edge in shots 34-32.
I also think the Royals play a pretty solid game defensively, with most of the Bison shots coming from the points or outside the box.
The Rogers sophomore goalie played last night, and is proving he could be the future for the team, allowing one PP goal, and then a nice low shot from the left point that was very well screened and got threw the 5 hole, other then that he just needs to control rebounds a little better. (He didn’t play against Coon Rapids).
He also stopped an exciting breakaway scoring chance that was just a terrific save.
He stopped 30-32
So another Tie????? Just leads up to the next meeting at Buffalo, this is becoming a pretty good rivalry game in a few short years, and players from both sides seem to respect each other, and now it is always tough game each time they meet.
Side note, the Rogers JV won 5-1 and are 6-0-1 so far, so that looks good for the future as well.
As far as the police and all that, the only thing I saw was 2 kids being removed from the building, all the while mouthing off to the cop that was escorting them, and as far as respect from HS kids I don’t get that comment. I know nothing of any broken noses or anything but I didn’t hang around either.

Ok Cant never tried dont talk about it if you didnt actually see what happened the cops pushed the kid up against the glass for hitting the glass while all of the rogers crowd was doing it too he then started pushing the kid out so violently that he broke a kids nose and then put a kid in the back of his squad car who just asked for his badge number and name. I am also sure they werent mouthing off to the cop because i have talked to them myself.
and as a side note the buffalo jv was off their game and was caught off gaurd because they had just put a beating on Monti 9-2
I also thought the Rogers introductions were very long and very dumb

Well son your wrong, I saw 2 kids mouthing off to the cops as they were telling them to leave, the police at that point were not what I would consider forceful at all, and this was after the game in the lobby, that's what I saw, and that's what I said.rchockey10 wrote:Ok Cant never tried dont talk about it if you didnt actually see what happened the cops pushed the kid up against the glass for hitting the glass while all of the rogers crowd was doing it too he then started pushing the kid out so violently that he broke a kids nose and then put a kid in the back of his squad car who just asked for his badge number and name. Just a hint..... if you take the time to read down just a couple post's you'd see that someone else posted it was his own friend that did it.
If that's fact or fiction I have no idea, nor do I care.
What an entertaining game this one was! Rogers impressed me with their disciplined play and some great work by their goalie. Buffalo carried the play when it was 5 v. 5, but Buffalo was their own worst enemy by committing way too many penalties, which cost them a win.
I missed the opening introduction of players, but I almost fell asleep in the second period when the refs took way too long to figure out the multiple penalties that Buffalo committed. It must have been about 10 minutes before they figured it out.
After seeing both teams play against Monticello, I thought that Buffalo would win this game by a couple of goals, as I thought Buffalo had the advantage in the nets. On this night, however, Rogers had a little better play in the nets & Buffalo was too undisciplined & chippy to stay out of the box. If they play like this on Thursday night in the big spotlight game on FSN, the Lumberjacks could trounce them. Hopefully, for the sake of the fledgling M8 conference, Buffalo can give a respectable effort (minus one of their captains that received a game misconduct against Rogers).
Buffalo, followed by Rogers are likely the class of the M8 this year. The rematch will likely decide the conference crown, unless one of them would happen to stub their toe on an off night against C-I or Monti. Mark the date for the rematch in Buffalo, should be another good one.

The Cambridge program all round is a joke!!! How ever i have to defend Chumley i have been his teammate since squirts, Yes he is cocky on the ice, but off the ice one of the nicest hard working kids you will ever meet. I kno He is getting alot a D1 looks out east playing in the EJHL. And for that A peewee team already this year they have beat 4 ranked teams in the top 20 so i think they i are more then average. They are led by a good group of kids mainly Hienrich and Chumleys little brother who is already over 6 feet tall and will more then likely brake his brothers scoring record. But cambridge has to totally start over starting with the High school coach, then with the youth it will be a long time before that happens!!
P.S CHumley is not even smart to work this web site so yea he is not posting about himself LOL sorry chumbum

CNT is asking for home cooking examples...I think Rogers clutched and grabbed all night long but here some specific examples:
#11 pulled down and stuffed into the net on rebound attempt in the first period
several cross checks in front of Rogers net and several opportunities to call interference/holding/hooking they just didn't...
Buffalo forward number 5 blatently pulled down twice with no whistle one time in front of his bench and one time crossed checked from behind at his own Blue Line...
Here is the official Penalty breakdown pretty much says it all 16 minor penalties for Bison and 5 for Rogers...plus a couple majors and a game misconduct for fighting...the kid was fighting but who was fighting???Rogers guy got a roughing penalty even though he threw a couple...then decided he was losing badly...Plus Rogers was chopping the Buffalo goalie all night..

HOF how many non-calls did buffalo have? Jensen was getting mugged all game and they rarely called anything. It seemed like they were trying to let the boys play which is ok. As for the fighting the rogers kid was a punching bag and that is why he only got a roughing penilty.
The rematch will be a good game and I am looking forward to seeing how each team has changed by that game. Both teams will be better at this point in time, so it should be a interesting match up.

Just so that you know it was not the kids friend that broke his nose it was the cop. when he went to pull the kid off the glass his elbow came back and hit him in the face. Believe me i know i play for Buffalo and we heard about it from our admisistration the next day. the cop was way out of line throwing out two fans and putting another in his car for asking him if he was going to apologize for hitting him.
As for the penalties i think that there were alot of bad calls in that game more so in the overtime. However i also believe that there were alot of things that weren't called that should have been on both teams. I'll admit that the fighting call was the right call also the checking from behind but most of the calls in that overtime were just brutal.
I'll also give props to Rogers. They played an amazing game that we weren't ready for. Jensen really impressed me with his ability to jump up into the play and create prime scoring opportunities. Their goalie also played very well even though I think that we had alot of opportunities that we just didn't cash in on. Very nice game by Rogers and I'm looking forward to the rematch.
