Willmar cant score, even on the powerplay they stink, dont know whats happening there , had a good JV team last year but guess that dont mean anything in the big show, I would almost write them out of it now, they would have to change dramitcally, heard they got beat agian by Praire Centre, not good and only got one goal

Summer league
You're right about summer, I suppose. But I'm pretty sure I saw Doom and Krogen out there in a game against one of the Mankato teams, and they didn't win.
Nick Eisenmenger has only been one of the best players in southern Minnesota for the last five years. I think he made the advanced 15 and 16 teams, if I'm not mistaken. The Windom roster has him listed as No. 13 and he's got a heck of a shot.

New Ulm vs Marshall
I think that the New Ulm v Marshall game will be a hard fought battle that will go down to the wire, I predict that Marshall will win with the home ice 5-4... Any other thoughts?

NU wins 5-2 on Marshalls ice. Marshall lost too many players last year and will not be able to skate with NU's first two lines. NU's third line should also do well against Marshalls 8th and 9th grader third line.

See that is a big statement considering they haven't played in a game yet this year, not saying it cant happen...just saying why not wait till they play before deciding you know what is going to happen? If it was that easy they wouldn't play the game, they would just write down what you thought was going to happen. I agree i think New Ulm will be alot for the young players of marshall to try and deal with, but you never know how the inexperienced will handle big games, they could play great.

Hockeytown,
I think someone asked for predictions? What they thought the outcome will be. Don't get mad but I'll say 5-3 NU with eng.

Marshall 1
Eagles too strong defensively for the Tigers. NU has two D in Burgau and Kohn that could play for any team in the state both AA and A

New Ulm was very undisciplined taking dumb penalties like the 4 minute penalty to end the 2nd with Marshall up 4-1 that just gave Marshall all the momentum into the last period and ended up scoring to make it a 4 goal lead and coasted in from there.
Scoring from the game-not sure if its right but from what I heared announced
Marshall
Tony Krogen 2g, 2a
Aaron Ogdahl 2g, 1a
John Doom 1g, 1a and Byrnes and Danny Hansen also scored
Burgau got NU's goal on a PP

Boy I'd be proud to be a New Ulm parent tonight, they weren't undisciplined they were idiots, they knew the game was over and they got dumb and cheap, they were trying to hurt kids. What did Marshall do? Kept scoring. They didn't stand a chance the way Marshall played tonight. BTW good predictions...

NU has no class. Not to mention no goalie either. Shot's were 22 to 22. Looks like they have some things to work on. Wow was I off on the prediction!!!
MARSHALL — The Marshall High boys hockey team and Section 3A rival New Ulm each had 22 shots on goal during their game on Tuesday night in Marshall, but the Tigers (6-1) were able to get the puck past the Eagles’ goalie seven times to go on to a 7-1 win.
It was the Eagles who drew first blood in the game when they scored their one and only goal at 11:45 in the first period.
Despite having just as many shots as the Tigers, the Eagles couldn’t find a way to get another one past Marshall goalie Paul Ivers as he finished with 21 saves. Marshall head coach Kori Pearson thought his goalie did a good job of controlling the puck as opposed to New Ulm’s which gave up a lot of rebound opportunities to the Tigers.
“Paul did a really good job of controlling his rebounds, he didn’t really give out a lot,” Pearson said. “We jumped on a lot of their rebounds. I think four or five of our goals came off of rebounds.”
After New Ulm’s goal, the Tigers came to life as Brian Byrnes started the scoring off for the orange and black with a goal at 9:20. Danny Hansen had the second Tiger goal of the night at 3:58 and Krogen got his first with 23 seconds remaining in the first period.
In all, five different Tigers had goals.
Marshall 3 1 3 — 7
New Ulm 1 0 0 — 1
First period: 1. N—Beau Burgau (Tyler Kraus) 11:45 (PP); 2. M—Brian Byrnes (Sean Marron) 9:20; 3. M—Danny Hansen (Grant Sattler) 3:58; 4. M—Tony Krogen (Andy Ogdahl) :23.
Penalties: M—Andy Ogdahl (tripping), N—Cody Kohn (int.).
Second period: 5. M—Aaron Ogdahl (unassisted) 13:15
Penalties: M—Trevor Hemish (int.), N—Wade French (x-check), N—French (slash)
Third period: 6. M—Krogen (Aaron Ogdahl, Andy Ogdahl) 14:11 (PP); 7. M—Aaron Ogdahl (John Doom, Krogen) 10:20 (PP); 8. M—Doom (Krogen) 3:55
Penalties: N—Burgau (tripping), N—French (int), N—Cody Rodewald (roughing), M—Doom (unsporstmanlike), N—French (high sticking), N—Kyle Juntunen (slash), M—Ryan Hanson (hooking)
Shots on goal: M—22, N—22
Saves: M—Paul Ivers 21, N—Jordan Burkhart 15
Typical intense NU/Marshall game.
Also typical that Marshall gets NO respect. Especially from NU.
Marshall has done nothing for the past 5 years but get better and play harder and improve. They don't waste their time pounding their chests and telling you how good they are, they just show up and play. They know they are capable of beating anyone, but also know they can be beaten by anyone. They know the game. They have been smaller and younger than every team they have played this year, and yet they are 6-1.
They have an excellent coach who teaches the game and respects his players as well as the opponents.
They respect NU, they always have, and it never comes back the other way. Beating a team like that 7-1 had to be incredibly satisfying.
As for predictions, gotta remember ...
NU fans/players are like "Da Bears" fans in the old SNL skit.
Prediction for the Marshall game? ....... "72 to nuttin, da Eagles"

Marshall vs New Ulm
Hats off to Marshall on their big win against New Ulm. Marshall played a great game from top to bottom and even forced run time in the 3rd period. Wasn't very surprised to see New Ulm show no class and start taking runs and get cheap at the end of the game, they seem to have a history of that. Marshall proved that they are a force to be reckon with in Section 3A. Hopefully they can keep it rolling as they play Willmar Saturday. Interested in how it turns out!
