I don't think the smoky backroom will come into play. There's a lot of season left, let's wait to see how the rest of the season pans out before we base the entire seedings for the section on one game.GoldenElbow wrote:So now what happens to seeding if Hermantown beats Cathedral? Do they look at overall records? Common opponents? Who's playing better toward the end of the year? Or do they just fight it out in the smoky backroom?

Well there's only going to be two teams fighting for the top seed and Denfeld isn't one of them after this weekend.GoldenElbow wrote:So now what happens to seeding if Hermantown beats Cathedral? 6 or 7 seed No Way. They had a bad weekend yes ! But 4 seed being the worst. they can do. I would say it still will come down to SCC or Denfeld. Dont count out Hermantown either. The hunters were missing Staffnie today and he would have made a difference. But the coach did what he had to do. Anyway I wouldnt count the Hunters out yet. Lots of season yet to be played. The Storm were the better team today. Id rather have them have a slump now then in late febuary. Go Hunters !

I was joking. If they win out the sectional games they will get the 3rd or 4th seed I would imagine. It's hard to talk about playoff seedings this early in the season and I have no idea why that's such a hot topic in December. I have, however, lost a lot of faith in Denfeld's ability to win big hockey games.

If they have a good showing in that tournament I will gladly change my mind about the team's capabilities. They have some very tough games left too and the hard schedule should only benefit them come playoff time. I was just looking at their schedule and 8 of their last 10 games include the following teams:
- Duluth East
- Hibbing
- Superior, WI
- Intl. Falls
- Warroad
- Duluth Marshall
- Grand Rapids
- Cloquet
Talk about a tough schedule. If they are able to win 6 of those games I will be VERY impressed. Which means I hope to VERY impressed with the Hunters last 10 games this season

The Hunters will be lucky to get everyone on the team through those games without any injuries.... Good luck to them.
