Should be pretty evenly matched.

Mound is REALLY banged up, lots of injuries and sickness, obviously not having Horgan for the rest of the season is going to make it rough. Defense is going to come up big. Not sure much about Hopkins, except they beat Hermantown earlier this year, which Mound lost to last weekend.

I'm expecting a one goal game, or possible OT. I think home ice will be the difference.

Hopkins 3

Mound does have quite a few kids that are dinged up. I think they have 4 or 5 kids out with various injuries, plus several that are playing hurt. Even with all that they have two strong lines, defense is in decent shape and good goaltending. Mound 4 Hopkins 2

The Royals looked pretty darn good last night, Mound didn't at all. I wasn't sure what to expect from Hopkins, but I think they are worthy of a high ranking.

Hopkins is undefeated this year. They have a solid lineup. Mound threw away our PP's and made some really bad offensive decisions.

I'm surprised that Hopkins has a Sophomore goaltender.

No, I go to school with him. I just happen to follow the team really close.

Update: Riley Horgan didn't come to school at all this week. The only sight of him at all this week was at the Hopkins game when he and his family watched from the bench as Mound struggled to put the puck in the net.

He is expected to be out all of this season.

Watch for #11 Colin Mayer(Sophomore) to step up in place of Riley for the rest of the season. He is a very talented player with amazing speed and scoring ability. Any questions, feel free to PM me or post here.

Hopkins is 8-0...but who have they beat?

They play 5-1 Anoka on Dec 26th at the SSP tourney...we'll see how good they are then.

#11 on Mound looked good, very fast and skilled, created some good chances, #44 looked good too.

Hopkins had two Freshman goalies split time last year, Fons and Kruger, it was known one would leave to get full PT somewhere else. Kruger is now at Minnetonka, splitting with a senior.

Boyd for Hopkins created some great chances, but seems to be trying shots that won't work on high school goalies. I wouldn't worry about him though, he will end up being better than Fink.
