Hey Pioneerprideguy,
Comments like yours are why people dislike the catholic/private school people. As an independent person I sent my son to private school through 6th grade and found him falling behind the public school kids so I changed and now he is at Harvard and will grauate with honors. I know the old fued between Johnson/Hill and at one time it was great. Yeah you can still blow your horn only because kids still go to Hill to get there hockey scholarships. Your right though when your thinking does finally take over there will be Shattack/St. Mary's ,Hill, Cretin and Holy Angeles left in hockey because the cost will cut everyone else out in the metro area. The only reason some areas still keep going is they own there own rink. Huh! does hill have it's own rink or do they still steal ice from everyone else?

I guess I didn't realize that schools, public or private, stole Ice, I thought that it was bought and paid for....unless iseepalms is talking about the ice he most likely stole for the drinks that he's obviously had too many of.....

That doesn't read very well, I'll have another and maybe it'll make senseiseepalms wrote:Why is it that any time someone does not agree with the privates they resort to drinking. Us people in the burbs do blow not drink at least in finance_gall's blurry eyes. Stick to hockey honey not ones personal problems.

Regarding Joe...
Joe is at North High but playing @ Johnson. We happily welcome him back to NSP teams next year!
You can't blame Joe for wanting to play for his dad in HS - and now that Jim isn't there, you can't blame him for wanting to be w/ his friends at NSP.
Joe is a class act, never brags about himself - true talent. Just being a kid, having fun and his future is bright.
I guess when you don't know the family/individual, it's easy to fabricate a lot.

Jim isn't where? Harding? I know Jim coached baseball at Harding where Joe went to school and played ball, but Jim hadn't coached hockey at Johnson... is that what you're driving at?Got2luvhockey wrote: You can't blame Joe for wanting to play for his dad in HS - and now that Jim isn't there, you can't blame him for wanting to be w/ his friends at NSP.
I don't know Joe personally, but he was born when I was playing ball for Jim at Johnson. The only "knock" I have on him as a hockey player is that he isn't selfish enough... if that's really a knock. He's head-and-shoulders the best player for Johnson, and he has the opportunity to take over some games, but he doesn't do it - he makes sure to try and get everybody involved and there are times where it has almost cost them. He's an individual talent, but a team guy. I hate to knock him for it, but I think he really has a great opportunity to help the team by being a little more selfish.
I wish him well at NSP when he gets there, but I'm not sure his style of play will actually help dig the Polars out of the hole they've been in the last few years.
Transfers schools, but can still play on his old team during the transfer year. That's part of the new rule.heybuddy wrote:I'm his cousin. He transferred to North St. Paul but got to play football at Harding and since Harding doesn't have a hockey team he plays for Johnson. I'm not sure why he got to play either do to the transfer rule but that is what happened.

I was referring to the baseball w/ his dad.
Given the dynamics that Joe brings to the ice, and the fact that he will be playing with 5-8 boys that he won PeeWee Districts and about 2 dozen 1st & 2nd place trophy's with growing up, should be fun.
Regarding Joe not being selfish enough, lots of boys can put the puck in the net, it's another thing to work as a play maker. That's what happened w/ Arnt was there. Benny's a good kid, but when you put all your "pucks in one basket...." JMHO.

I watched a couple of games this year and it was sad to see players in the wrong positions, a trap offense with a one-man forecheck that simply does not work, and a defensive scheme that looks like a 5-man penalty kill. They play way below the level of talent they have on their roster, it's all bad coaching ... good luckGot2luvhockey wrote: I wish him well at NSP when he gets there, but I'm not sure his style of play will actually help dig the Polars out of the hole they've been in the last few years.

I have to agree with you there. There is a lot of talent.
