Woodbury vs. South St. Paul

Post by wbmd »

This could be a good match-up. However, I'll take Woodbury by 2.

i think that this should be a one or two goal game and could either way... saw woodbury play last night and they seemed some what slow.. South Saint Paul will have their top goalie in tonight should make for a good game

Woodbury lost a good forward Dane Erickson (broken thumb) in yesterdays game against Eagan. Should still have enough firepower to take care of SSP...6-3 Royals.

This was a good game.

Final shots were
ssp-47
woodbury-37

Woodbury was up 3-0. South saint paul then game back and made it a 3-2 game then woodbury went up 4-2 then south saint paul game back and got 2 more to tie it up. woodbury got one early into overtive to win it. Woodburys goals were mostly because of mistakes south saint paul made and the goal in overtime was because of a defenseman that turned it over behind his net and the woodbury guy brought it out front and put it in. South Saint Paul could have came away with the victory if they would have capitalized on a few mistakes that woodbury made.

That is untrue. I am friends with the goalie coach for Woodbury and he actually counted 45 shots. I know that is biased but it is true. The second period South Saint Paul just continued to put shots on goal. They had about 20 shots that period. In the third it was more of the same.

Plus the games score should have never been 5-4. The refs were atrocious. Did you see any of the no calls. Second goal was offside by about 3 feet. The third goal was not a goal. The ref never looked for the puck and it was under the Woodbury defenseman. The puck was about a foot from going in. I saw the entire play and the goalies shaft of his stick was on the goal line to prevent the puck or the body of his defenseman from sliding into the net. It was for sure not a goal.

The fourth goal was tipped in by a Woodbury defenseman on a pass across the slot. The final should have been 4-2.

Actually nevermind you are correct my fault. The rest of my statement is legit though. You have to see the game in order to tell how terrible the ref was.
