Two teams who haven't played each other in the last few year with something to prove this year.

Should be a good game. Stars are down this year. If White Bear finds a way to stop Danny Mattson they should win.

I am going with the Bears.

Yes I will agree that AHA is a down, nothing needs to be proven here. You can see that from all the negativity on this board from people who feel they need to go out an out-score people 8 - 1. They lose a couple of games and people lose their minds.

As far as the game I think if AHA gets good goaltending they will win. Danny shined last year at the X, the defense has gotten better and the younger players are improving everyday. One question mark woulc be Austin Wetmore, since he left the game on Saturday. I see the game as being a low scoring battle. AHA wins 3 - 2.
I will not be in attendance this year, I cannot get out of work.

It'd be kinda hard not to be down compared to last year; they beat Shattuck and already couldn't get as good of a record if they won out. They will beat a mediocre WBL squad though.

AHA 5-3

I was not impressed with AHA at all. They were lazy, cheap and very overrated. Mattson is a rare talent but looks like he wants to be elsewhere. AHA has an astronomical chance of making it out their section. WBL looked okay, #15 was a standout for the bears. The Star's goalie kept them in. I know they are better than I saw today, but I was astonished by the lack of effort and enthusiasm.

Does Holy Angels play Shattuck this year. That could get ugly if they do.

I'm not sure I'd laugh at this point. It's pretty early, and they certainly have the talent to make some noise come tournament time. I'm sure they are not an ideal opponent for anyone in a section game.

Ask yourself this, If AHA beat Edina tomorrow would it really be that much of an upset? Nope. They can beat anyone in their section. I love it when teams look past AHA.

AHA is still better than 90% of the teams in the state.

Just because you have a history and reputation of being a good hockey team, doesn't mean you're automatically "better than 90% of the teams in the state". Because you definately can't say that at this point in time about AHA.

I hate to point this out but Jefferson, Edina and Bville are very capable teams to beat AHA. AHA is not the team they have been the past decade and even tho the rich tradition over the past few seasons has shown otherwise, they are lackluster this year. I actually have a feeling about Jefferson taking this section in a thriller but even if they dont, there are 3 other teams that AHA will have to play against that have a chance at pulling what you would call an "upset".

I guess my point was, AHA is capable of beating ANYONE in the state at anytime. They old any given sunday analogy. The won't be the favorite in there section, But past experience tells me it not always good to be the favorite. Edina was was just an example. I wasn't trying to knock Jefferson or Burnsville, Edina was just the name I picked. My original responce was to someone who basically said AHA had basically no chance of making it out of their section. Maybe the don't, Maybe they do. What I know for sure is it's WAY to early to write off anyone, down year or not.
