Tonka BB1's

Post by blueblood »

Tonka what happened?

Shut out in 2 straight games. Well, there's bigger fish to fry for this team. blueblood's recipe for 2008 success:

1) Get some rest and stay healthy
2) Start out stronger in your games (you can't come back and win every game)
3) Fine tune your power play. Special teams are huge come playoffs.
4) Know how to defend the umbrella power play
5) Have fun in Grand Rapids (the ex-GR player is on notice. I'll be listening for reports of mayhem on 'CCO)
6) BEAT EDINA. EP (sorry eagleguy), the BLAZE and every other D6 team and punch your ticket to regions and state.

WBL black beat Edina 5-4 for third place in Edina tourney. Second victory over them in as many days (3-2). Wayzata looked like a team that does not belong at the b level. Scary good.

Ah, Blueblood. The wisdom of experience!

Alas, the level of perspiration generated this past week in Bloomington was rather low. Other teams are gathering momentum as the Skippers lose some of theirs.

Tonights' test will be telling. Do the Hawks fly or will their wings be clipped?

Bluesy,

The more things change the more they stay the same.

As we've seen the district games at the beginning of the year are just as important as the games later in the season for seeding purposes for playoffs. But as we've also seen from past experiences you want to be playing your best hockey later in the season. The majority of this bunch of Skippies have started strong in past years and tailed off as the year goes on.

Sound familiar rodents of Dinkytown...

pipeline

Post by blueblood »

Ding, ding, ding....

You are right on pipeline (or is it pipedream?)

Only the strong survive and you need to be playing solid 3-line hockey with no weak goals allowed to be the big dog and claim the prize of a state title.

To all Bantam B1 teams:

1) Move north in the league standings. As they say in the real estate business, it's all about location, location, location.

2) Have fun the last few tournaments (GR, Moorhead, Rochester, Tonka) prior to playoffs and learn your opponents tendancies. You will likely see them again in districts, regions and state.

3) Try something new and test it out at these games. Throw a wrinkle at the opposition and see how they respond.

4) Send in those tournament reports so I can keep up to date. That means you Johnny Cash (AKA EagleGuy91), O' sonofblue, and Fast Freddy Flintstone of the Edina clan, and any other BB1 posterboy.

It's a longer rest if you bow out early . . . I am sorry to admit. #-o

Bluebies,

If it's a pipedream then I hope every shot taken by the other team hit's the crossbar and goes out and every shot taken by my team of choice hits the crossbar and goes it. If it stays out then the goalie has played it correctly. If not then the goalie is at fault, even if the mistake was made in the other end of the rink. That's the life of a goalie and his parents!! Correct??

Goaltending will determine where the teams end up. This is the time of year when the puck ought to start looking like a beachball to the goalies.
