Jefferson-Eastview Jan 3rd

Post by goldenhockey20 »

Big game for both teams as far as the lake standings go.....I heard the game will be played on BIG 3 instead of the usual BIG ! which is interesting.....what are some opinions???

My take: Jefferson will need to outskate and outwork a solid eastview team...If they play eastview like they played roseau they'll have no problems, if they play them like they played lakeville south, they might have to watch out

I'm thinkin the Jags step up tomorrow night and prove their one of the elite team this year......

Two very good teams, should be a good battle. Eastview has some key players out- Fienhage and Friedman is the rumor. That will play a huge impact. With those two guys out, and if the goal tending is weak-then the jags will win. If EV's goal tending is strong, I think EV can pull it off. Should be fun!

Rumor is true that both players are out for fighting after the with Mahtomedi players after the loss. Also it is historic that the jags have success with them. They have good goaltending themselves and a good pp. EV, the goaltending like everyone knows will hurt them.

That will hurt with those 2 out, but it will give some other under rated players a chance to step up. I still think EV has too many goaltending issues to beat the Jags.

Guessing O'Shea will start. He seems to be what they have.

Jefferson, perhaps in running time... Take away 2 top players (one a top defensemen, the other a major contributor on offense) and you have a recipe for disaster against a very good Jefferson team. EV has been overhyped due to Fienhage (sp) and others getting looks but in reality have not beaten the teams they need to beat to be "top notch"... PROVE YOU ARE SOMETHING MORE!

They have beaten EP and Minnetonka which are top teams. They played Edina tough, and lost to Rosemount in OT. Not saying that EV should be in the top ten, but they do deserve some respect. I still think that the Jags will pull off the win becuase of the players being out, but we will see.

Tied a very subpar LS team, lossed to Mahtomedi, lossed to Bville and Rosemount. If you want to say they are a good team then let them know they have to beat good teams... Mahtomedi and LS are not "top notch" but are playing good hockey (not necessarily LS). Any excuse for those 2 breakdowns is just a waste of air. Once again, if you want to claim to be a good program PROVE IT!

The game they beat EP was a fluke they sat on a bus for 3 1/2 hours on the way cause of bad weather and traffic and got off the bus and started with very little warm-up to get loose, same with the Tonka game they where on the bus for around 2 1/2 hours. Tonka came out slow gave up 3 in 6 minutes. They would lose this game with or without those players. They haven't done anything to prove to me anything but an average team.

Excuses aside, Eastview beat the current #2 team in the state...I don't care who's playing for them, the Jags are gonna wanna come out flyin' early...

Hockeyjunkie- Im not saying that EV is the best team in state, or in the top ten. Top twenty, yes. All you do is sit here and bash EV, and its clear you are a AV fan not a EV one. You can make all the excuses you want, but EV did beat tonka and EP. I dont see your AV eagles beating them. You think that it didnt affect the EV players when they had to sit around in their pads for 2 1/2 hours also?? Maybe you should just relax a bit.

Anyways, should be a good game tonight, and should be fun.

I know they did still beat them. You know I am an eagle fan and yeah they are not beating them I don't expect them to this year it happens but I still haven't been impressed with EV to be a top 20 team. I'll be in attendence tonight at the game and we shall what happens but I have seen a few games and nothing makes me think great things, they have bad goaltending, stupid and too many penalties and they only score with 1 line for the most part. I do give EV respect when they deserve it I have picked them to win in games I have them finishing 5th in the conference, no need to relax I'm rating them fairly as I have seen.

Tonight could be a good game tonight though your right but seeing both play Jefferson does have the upper hand.

Agreed, brutal goaltending. Have fun at the game, post an update when you get back if you can.

Jefferson 3
Eastview 1

Eastview has the potential to win, but goaltending will be their problem.
