Leivermann to the Mavericks

Post by bugsysback »

Mankato Free Press is reporting that Senior forward Corey Leivermann has verbally committed to play his college hockey for the hometown Mavericks. Article states that it has always been his dream to play for the Mavs since he moved to Mankato in 4th grade. Leivermann will play 1 or 2 years of Juniors before donning the Maverick sweater.
Currently, Leivermann is the states second highest scorer behind teammate Ricky Litchfield. Leivermanns stock rose quite a bit after having a successful fall Elite league.
Congrats Corey, you deserve it!

The entire MN hockey community should be very proud of the achievment of Mr. Lieverman. He has worked hard for many years, and accelerated that development in the last 6 months playing in the Elite League, and working on his skating with a private instructor. He is an example to all the young kids, by demonstrating that perseverence, hard work, determination can get you great things.
Mr. Leiverman's quest has just begun. First, he must show that he can lead his HS team to a section championship and possibly a state tournament. Then it will be off to the USHL or the NAHL. There, he will have to prove himself just like he did in the Elite League. Only then will a D1 spot open for him. He as the drive and ability. I have little doubt that we will see him in a Maverick uniform. That first game will be a magical one for him, his family and the city of Mankato. But he has a lot of work to do before that day happens. I eagerly await that day. Congratulations Mr. Leiverman.

Demon, you should be ashamed of yourself. You showed the hockey forum community that you are not a hockey fan at all, but just a cynical ass who is, sadly, not capable of much more in life.

This person is typical of a lot of posters on this board... do not give kids credit when they deserve it. I give my congrats to him because he is continuing to play hockey and go to school. I have heard that Cameron Cooper, AHA 2005 grad, also will be attending and playing for MN State Mankato.

Zanman. You are right,,Cooper will be playing for the Mavs next year. He was a kid that I had hoped they would land. They have some outstanding young d-men and Cooper should fit in well

you bet I am. Proud of it to. This is a group of hard working kids that have one goal...can you say the X. They have alot of competition though to get there with Lourdes AL NP and Red Wing in the section. Lots of good hockey to be seen in the next 2 months.
