I saw her first MN start, and that is all. What I saw there was that she can be as good or better than everyone else. She stole that game from BSM that I was at.ontheroadagain wrote:Bob lee
Tough start for Jondahl is she going to be the starter??? With all that D1 tallent on the Cretin team I would expect under 1 goal against and at least 94% save?? I'll say this it would be tough to come in to Minnesota Mid-season from Wisconsin and nab the crown from all the MN goalies.

There are goalies on teams that have no D1 defense let alone 2 and one forward putting up bigger numbers with many common opponents. Let's be real 2 D1 defense Wild and Carlson with Keys at forward is a goalies dream. 3.4 Gaa 210 minutes played 123 saves 14 goals is not goalie of the year numbers in Minnesota. That would make a lot of solid all year, life time Varsity goalies rather upset.

I don't believe Wild has played in a game with Lea yet. She has been with team USA. Earlier you made a comment saying her GAA should be under 1.00. That is not reasonable for any goalie on any team. Like I said, I was basing my thoughts from what I saw in the ONE GAME i went to.ontheroadagain wrote:Bob lee

Cat got your tongue??? Maddie Burke has several D1 players and under
1 goal against , Danielle justice has 2 D1 players and under 1 goal against. It isn't impossible if your contolling the puck like a D1 player.
If you have a D1 defensive player who can play for many shifts it can be virtually impossible for a average team to score. With checking in boys hockey where we beat your Grand Rapids Team in both JV and Varsity
that is different. Girls hockey with no checking top players preveil!!!!

Ontheroad... Seriously, Boblee said he was basing his opinion off of one game and that he could be entirely wrong. People are entitled to their opinions, so let him have his. Also, you have to look at strength of schedule. Yes, Alex has 2 D1 players in the mix, one of them being a forward, FYI, but until this season, they haven't played the strongest teams constantly throughout the year. EP has one of the strongest programs in the state, and although only a couple have committed, they're team has total depth with even their younger players. Not even the best goalies in the state can prevent some goals, and those goalies even have their lapses and let in soft goals. I have heard great things about Lea. And you also need to remember, stats and numbers don't give you the real picture of how good a goalie really is. If you don't believe that, then take a look at Kari Hunter and Claire Richards' stats and watch them play.

From what I have seen this year I wouldn't mention Jondahl in this thread. Seen her in JV games and WBL game this year - pretty average. 3.4 GAA to this point not impressive, not even cracking the top 11 in SUB East conference. Seniors Brausen (Roseville) and Alwin (Hastings) are at 1.3 and 1.4 for a season of play. I'm sorry if I'm mis stating someone here but I believe it was mentioned that CDH may not have been putting fourth their best defensive effort due to missing players, etc. Jondahl used to play for New Richmond, WI have you ever seen what they put on the ice for defense? She should be used to it. If she has a great performance mention that in the great goalie performances thread, as for this thread (all stars) really don't think she belongs-at least at this part of the season in addition to the lack of stats.

Not only are you being ridiculous, but you are missing my claims. I know I put on my first post in this thread that I was forced to leave A LOT of good players off my lists. Also, what does the number of D1 players on GRG mean? I was talking to a scout the other day and he said he expects 7 girls on this years GRG team to be D1. Obviously some of those girls are younger and a lot of things can happen. If Jondal plays the way she did against BSM, she is amongst the best. Also, Justice's GAA under 1.00 is fantastic, but it still is not a reasonable goal. This is hockey, teams score goals. Plus, read around in the guys thread. It is rare for a goalie on a bad team to get a lot of credit. I see what you are saying, but it is easier to notice a goaltender that is winning games. For the last time, I was not trying to short anyone. I was giving my opinion. I am not a scout, I am not a college coach. What I saw is opinion just like everyone else. Heck, even if I was a scout or a college coach it's still my opinion. I let you have yours, now let me have mine.
didn't Lea Jondahl play in Thoroughbreds spring league? I think she did and she was incredible. There was another little girl that I think was from Hill Murray (she always wore Hill murray socks) that was the best backchecker in that league, does anyone remember her name? She belongs on an all star team too.

Hey Bob lee
Fair enough. For the record I wasn't shorting GRG on the recruits I only
saw one. If there are more that is great you have one heck of a team,
my opinion the hottest in AA right now. My point was; whoever has to make the goalie selection for this years seniors has their work cut out.
There has been solid play all over the state!

fortunately for stcloud tech and kaasa, they have dold, who has been putting up numbers all season.
I know alex wouldn't trade justice for any other goalie in the state, no matter how many d-1 players she has in front of her.
She is consistent and always keeps alex in a game no matter who they are playing or no matter how flat they are playing.

Power, Speed, and a great Team Player.
Good Luck to them and their teams!!!

But since you mentioned it lets see - played all the Sec. 7AA teams (except Chisago Lakes) GRG #2, Duluth #10(twice), Cloquet #11, PHM #12(twice), Forest Lake and Rochester Mayo. In single A - Blake #1, Warroad #2, and Hibbing #8(twice).ice29 wrote:Yes, Sam is a very good player. However, look at their schedule. Albeit, not easy, it isn't anything like CEC's or GRG's. Yes I have seen her play and as soon as I did got her to play on my Crunch Spring team, as she will this year. She has a great future and above and beyond all that is a great kid. She is and will be a great player for someone.

There is one girl everyone seems to be ignoring, Nicole Anderson of Shakopee. Having played against her the last 4 years I can say shes big, strong and capable of dominating a game like the best of the best. In fact if they where to name an all-Missota conference first line she would be shoulder to shoulder with Kacy Ambroz and Lauren Smith, thats not bad company!
I agree, She is Big and strong and a true sniper, Awsome slapshot alsoprior Laker wrote:There is one girl everyone seems to be ignoring, Nicole Anderson of Shakopee.
