Does it say if there is a certain number of minutes or games that need to be played to qualify for the list?MSabrehockey33 wrote:According to Maxpreps 1/6/08

I have talked to a couple college coaches, and both of them said the best goalies are usaully the one that get shelledfrom peewees up , I would have to agree with that the goalies on good teams usauully are overated because of what they have in front of them, thats why teams like rapids look elsewhere for there goalies, ex Korhonen, underwood best 2 goalies theyve ever had,

from when I had played against him and what I have seen he is superb. I have seen some trash talking about inconsistency his direction, but high school goalies (even elite ones) and inconsistency tend to go hand in hand.HastingsDangler02 wrote:Yumusaklar from what I have seen is a very good goalie, I have also heard great things about him including the record, pretty amazing
Here my reviewed and newly compiled list:
1. Hakan Yumusaklar - Lakeville South
2. Fons -(I dont know first name) Hopkins
3. Jake Swansson - Bloomington Jefferson
4. Matt Buonomo - Minnetonka
5. Jack Hanna - Centennial
6. Derrick Caschetta - Edina
7. Joe Phillippi - Hill Murray
8. Ryan Vuedriell (Spelling?) - Bloomington Jefferson
9. trent Kasper - Eagan
10. Tom Horner - NSP
These are from what I have seen THIS SEASON
Some other notables I have seen and were impressed by
backup goalie from Eastview (yes, I was impressed by a backup from eastivew)
Hastings's goalie (plays angles very well)
Centennials's other goalie (is it strand? not sure)

I kind of agree. Should Edina face the Rams in the final, their goalie could cost them.Saintpaulhockey1 wrote:Would have to agree on the goalie from Hill watching him last year, yet to see improvement this year.
Had the opportunity to see Edina's goalie twice this year and do not believe he is even close to the top tier. Average goalie at best and seems to give up too many long rebounds. Actually think that if Edina has a weekness its him in nets. Saw the quarterfinal against Rapids last year and besides a nice glove on a breakway was not impressive.
If Crandall was back in nets for STA he would be in this for sure, looks like he is enjoying fighting for the Gamblers instead this year!

Here's your link to the best goalie's stats. The only stat that should matter is 23-0 for his career. The rest look pretty good though.RBKRules wrote:From:followthepuck.com website

I'd be impressed, but he is only averaging about 15 shots a game, most of which are probably from the outside.
How many games has he played where there have been over 25 shots?
ZERO
Most shots he had to face in a game so far is 24 and that was last night vs. warroad. I saw the game, most of the shots that were put on net were from outside the dots. Not to hard to stop those.
Just looked at www.followthepuck.com and Mike Lee has been added to the list now. Obviously the webmaster follows this blog. It would be great if others submitted their player stats so we can look at one website that covers scoring and goalie stats for the state.

Actually goalies that are on good teams and see limited shots have lower save %'s most of the time. When you are up 10-0 you have breakdowns and the fourth line out on the ice. At first I thought you were a goalie, now I'm not sure.whatitdobaby wrote:You can't base a goalie's ability solely on the stats, especially GAA and SV%. A goalie seeing 10-15 shots a game, should have a high SV % and a low GAA. You have to take into consideration the toughness of shot, teams they face, and alot of other factors.
