little late but...
Austin 6
Winon 0 (another shutout) :D Thursday will be a true test.

AL does have enough depth to deal with any injury across the team. I have coached LK and seen her play often, and ditto all the positive things said about her.

Impressive win AL. I was not there, but it appears, there may have been a "let down" in the beginning. A good strong team recovers and wins the game. AL did that. Congrats.

Did TJ not play?

No, she did not. She is fine. Just ask Twinnesota. :D One day I would like to know his source. I am old school, I never comment on any injuries. Hers was just precautionary. But, then again, she could be out for the year.

I wonder if the BIG rumor will out page our 1A thread? Those EP party girls are big enquirer type news.

No chance! Once names start getting thrown out there it will get locked up.

Packer girls hockey team wins without three starters

The Austin girls hockey team (10-7 overall) played shorthanded in a 6-0 win over Winona Tuesday night on the road.

The Packers, who were playing without starters Taylor Jenkins, Kelsey Klapperick, and Rebekah Swancutt due to illness, got a second straight shutout from Audre DeVries and two goals from seventh grader Carley Grunewald.

Junior forward Catherine Wagner added a hat trick and an assist for the Packers.

Ok, I know Jet wouldn't comment on an injury...but I also know TJ would play with a bucket by her side or an IV taped to her arm before sit because of a sickness so...
I can't believe I'm doing this but  ...Twinnesota I need your injury report.

Serves her right. Austin will probably do better without her. might get to see a few passes in the next game.

Enfys, I love you, man. You have no idea of what you are doing. Keep it up. I just want it confirmed, that you are from AL and AL only. :D

Seriously, who is Lauren Klick? Another one that rides the coat tails of JC? I know where this team would be without JC.
A sophmore, fun, nice kid, 3 sport lettering athlete, straight A student, All Conference HM as a 9th grader in fastpitch and doesn't even plat on JC,s line. She's with 12 and 16. Against good teams the lines are pretty equal in scoring. TEAMS win, INDIVIDUALS don't. So, o most educated falcons89, go look at the losses against Austin and Owatonna and tell me about how individual play wins. Bet if you were CROW134 the falcons would be 13-0.
I guess I got educated now. Especially from the unedited private message I recieved. I guess I am educated to as who puck hog hockey is. A proud parent of LK. Why did not uncle RSI come to the rescue. That one was so much fun, let us try it again.....

Seriously, who is Sophia Jepson? ( I decided to start at the top of the stat sheet) :D

  ROTFLMAO

(cue super hero music) Uncle RSI to the rescue (cut super hero music)....

(cue AC/DC Thunderstruck-live version)Sophie Jepson is #21, a Freshman, very nice, very quiet, very generous (she offered me some almond bark treats after the West game  I love almond bark ), she's an outstanding soccer player too, probably a great student too (pretty much all of these girls are) she's the fastest skater on her team and maybe even Section 1A, a dedicated athlete as she played for the TPS Outlaws last summer, her mom's name is Deb and she is a right handed shot. (cut AC/DC Thunderstruck)

next question...

I prefer the unedited versions. How boring. We could change this thread to the 07-08, Albert Lea, All-time, All-star team profile page. :D

RSI you have no creditabilty anyways....now if Jet or Christmastree were to verify, that could be a different story.

i got confused because all these people are basically creating a profile for Lauren Klick and Sophia Jepson.
maybe we could analyze games, talk about games instead of players and who's better than who, let's talk about teams and how teams are playing.

RSI, I'm curious why you think Albert Lea will win this game tonight. I'm not contradicting you and I haven't seen the AL girls this year but have seen Mayo 3-4 times. I'm assuming that Mayo's 3-3 tie with Owatonna might give the other Big 9 teams a little extra confidence and Mayo's task is to squash that thought. As far as I know everyone on Mayo is healthy and Murphy is playing great in the nets. AL's Christensen is obviously a good player and puts up numbers against everyone and huge numbers against weak teams. Flesher has points in all of her games except Centennial, North Metro and Lakeville N. Both teams have 5-6 players that have scored 5 or more goals. Where do you think tonight's "edge" will come from? Hanson has a 90.3% save average and Murphy has a 91.2%. Good numbers. It will come down to sniping and quick release shots. Unfortunately my team has practice tonight so I'll probably only get to watch one period at most. Good luck to all.

1. That tie against Owatonna doesn't hurt, but my confidence stems more from the two teams previous meeting back in November. In my estimation AL could/should have won that game. Unfortunately for AL they played a lot of that game waiting, as if they were expecting to lose. As the game played out I think the AL girls realized that "hey we can skate with these guys" and they gained more and more confidence. Tonight Mayo will be facing a different AL team, this one is more dangerous because they know they can win.

2. A key factor in tonight's game will be goaltending, if either one has an "off" night their team is sunk. I give a slight edge to AL in the forward department and a slight edge to Mayo in the D department. I think both goalies are good enough to make that first save so whichever team is able to control the most rebounds will win (I'll go out on a limb and say all of the goals scored tonight will be off rebounds).

3. I'm a homer!

4. They have to lose sometime, it may as well be tonight.

Lighten up. We are having fun. Every thread talks about players and performances. If you do not like..........do not read. Besides that, I enjoyed your initial humor. What is match.com? Could an AL girl find a date? Can you date relatives?

Mayo has to lose sometime. Go Tigers. Did I just say that?

Top to bottom, I couldn't have been more wrong. AL won the first period, but after that it was ALL Mayo. KH kept that game from getting out of hand, great job KH.

RSI, I didn't get to see very much of this game. I reffed on one of the other rinks and then my team was going to practice shortly after. It was 2-0 for AL when I peeked in and immediately Mayo scored but I didn't even see the play. I was tweeking my practice plan and Mayo scored again and then I had to leave. The play was going end to end while I was there. Bummer, I would have liked to watch the whole game.

I think your 4 points were all good with some honesty/humor tossed in. Gotta love the homer comment. From what I hear both goalies were "on". It looks like Nelson stepped up her game for Mayo (2 goals). Good for her. It looks like Pickel and Fiek were moving the puck well (multiple assists) but neither of them cashed in a goal so I assume that AL's D played them tight. Flesher only got 1 goal but you can always count on her to get points. Mathiowitz (D) got a goal and an assist and is having a good season. Looks like AL got their production from Christensen and Jepson. Since Christensen got 2 penalties as well as 2 points I assume she was on the puck and busting butt all night.

As I was going through my pics this morning this one caught my eye. It pretty much sums up the 2nd and 3rd periods for AL.

Best player on the ice for AL last night was...

I look at the one picture and see the D (Billings) taking a good angle with good supporting back pressure by Nelson and a linemate (far player is either Pickel or Rucinski). They are pretty much corraling the the AL player who must be Christensen (5?). They got her to her backhand and she was smart enough to go away from Higano (lower corner). It would be interesting to see where the AL linemates are at to see if they were open or if Mayo was really keying strongly on Christensen. I think the Mayo coaches would be pleased to get that same effort for 51 minutes.

You must have a great camera because I can't get anything like that out of mine.

I don't know if Mayo necessarily keyed on any one player, all the AL girls ended up with that same treatment. Mayo did very good job taking away AL's time and space.

She is there team. I am sure extra attention was given to her. 54 points and counting. No one else is even close. Good night for KH. If both are on fire, AL is tough.

That is a great website, but unfortunately, AL doesn't keep it updated. I think it may to complicated for them. Finding the right numbers and letters is quite the challenge. To get AL accurate stats, you have to go to the MSHL website or rely on the AL rag(newspaper). JC actually has 54+ points.
