True. That will be quite interesting how it affects the Woodbury program when the school opens in 2009.

From what I've heard, the enrollment at the schools will be similar to the enrollment at the 2 Jr. highs in Woodbury. Students at Woodbury JH will go to Woodbury HS, and students at Lake JH will go to East Ridge. Traditionally, Lake has had better athletes than WJH in all sports. (For example, Eddy, Erickson, Kopp, Goff, Ogren, and Hyland all went to LJH. Piitman and Nelson are the best current players that came from WJH.)

However, the school board hasn't made a final decision yet. You also have to remember that students from Cottage Grove will be at East Ridge as well.

Which won't help Park obviously. So as far as the SEC is concerned it look's to me like the order of finish in this conference should look much the same for year's to come. Woodbury-W.B-Cretin. With Park-Hastings-Mounds View-Forest Lake as the bottem feeders as i don't see these communities youth teams making much noise..

Just curious. When was the last time someone other than White Bear/Cretin/Roseville won the SEC?

I dont remember how old the conference is ROOK but I would guess that Hastings won it during the Welch, Taffe years.

With a bit of research, I found that the Suburban East Conference began play in the 2001-02 season.

Roseville won the first two titles with records of 13-1-0 and 12-1-1.

White Bear won the next two titles finishing 14-2-0 and 13-1-0 in the 2004-05 season.

In 2006 Cretin finished at the top with a 14-2-0 record.

Roseville won it last year at 14-1-1.

Nice job wbmd. I was wrong about Hastings winning it since those good teams were pre SEC. But ROOK is right. The Pack is back.

Think of the recruiting back and forth between Woodbury and the New School, almost like private/public

woodbury will figure it out...they will send their best athletes to one school. On another note Hastings is looking pretty competitive right now. I dont know what was wrong with Drew Waxlax but i had seen he got back in the game against moundsview saturday getting an assist. He is the only forward i know one the team. One other i kid i have seen play quite a few times is Horsch and he has proven himself to be among the top of the pack for defensemen in the conference for the past 3 years now. A name i am coming to get familiar with is Gleisner also. Every time he plays it seems like he is putting up at least 30-35 saves. As for white bear lake they look really strong wheni have seen them play and will continue to be strong.

Erickson went to Woodbury, not Lake.

Talk at the school board meetings is they are letting the first class of seniors play at the schools they came from for Varsiy sports. I could see them starting with 9th grade sports teams and working towards Varsity levels. As for hockey Woodbury they have enough to split but where do the Cottage Grove kids come in? This will hurt CG more then anything, they have a good group at peewees strong in numbers and getting better talent wise.

I have a question i was looking at the SEC and there records. How is it that Woodbury lost to Hastings and so did Roseville? But WBL beat them4-0. roseville beat WBL 4-0. Woodbury beat roseville 4-0. I guess what i am trying to say is that this thing is a toss up for the conference ship... :P

Hastings is coming out strong the second half of the season. They beat park which isn't saying much except Hastings was short handed over 20 mins of the game.

Hastings i believe will come out with the crown this year in the SEC they started out 0-8 without Alex Harrington and Drew Waxlax but since they got back Harrington they have one 7 out of there last 8 and got Waxlax a couple games ago. Also Benny Horsch i believe is the best defensman in the conference the kid is an animal and can control a game. Also John Gleisner is on a roll and Jake kimmes fills a nice roll switching in and out with Gleisner and Hastings is rolling full steam ahead. i look at them as a legitimate state tourney competitor, they just had to get it all together first.
