Talent doesn't win games against good teams. Ask Holy Angels about that.

With that said, Hopkins hasn't really proven anything yet, that can't happen until mid-February. Edina hasn't been blowing teams out like most people expected. One goal game, it could go either way depending on goaltending.
Talent alone doesn't wins games, but it helps out quite a bit. And Hopkins, at 14-0-0 with a win over then #2 Minnetonka last week, has proved that they are a good team. Maybe not a great one, but definitely very good.

Game on

Let me get this straight ---->>>
  • Hopkins LOST their best player to the USHL.

They have kids from the youth program that play for Minnetonka and Benilde.

Their superstar goaltender is still just a sophomore.

The most talented remaining forward is an eighth grader.

They did win over Minnetonka, but were outshot badly.
---->>> and 11 of 47 people still pick Hopkins to beat Edina??

I'll stick by my 5-goal margin prediction. Hopkins has been a great story so far but there is no way they'll sneak up on Edina. All their impressive wins ensure that.

Can't wait to see it.

There have been alot of surprises already this year. I am certain Edina will hold the edge in shots on goal something like 48-17. This is all I will predict...

Hopkins is missing 3 of its starting defensemen who are injured. I think the Hornets are going to be too much for them tonight.

Not a good game to be missing 3 of your top "d". I will up my original prediction from 5-1 to
7-1.

I'll take Edina in this game 5-2 but Edina is missing Connor Gaarder.

Shots:

Not that bad of a game, but Edina looked like a much better hockey team.

It was a great run for Hopkins..and if that's the team your gonna lose to there's no shame in that.
They'll do well this season!

Hopkins played a good game, staying with it through the first period. They couldn't keep with it though, Edina just outplayed them, the first two goals were within a minute of each other

Misinformation...Kallas is back. Hohertz is the only one out. Who else is missing? Not anyone from the first three lines.
You're right! Kallas did play. The information I received was wrong Hohertz is out for the year but the other kid who was hurt was actually a JV forward.

It was a good game but Hopkins couldn't keep up the pace they did in the 1st. I was impressed with Skalbeck and the goalie Fons.

Edina is huge and really fast. Their top lines are great. I understand how they're one of the best teams in the state. I'm hoping for a Edina/Roseau state final but that's obviously a long ways away. Hopkins played hard but they were just beat down by Edina's fast and physical play. Fons is awesome, i didn't realize he's only a sophomore, wow. He made some great point blank saves. Great atmosphere at Bramear.

It was a good game overall. Hopkins dominated the first period, but Edina came to life in the second period.
I wouldn't say Hopkinas dominated the first period. All of Edina's shots that period were pretty high quality, and they generated way more chances. It looked like Edina was going to have a tough time scoring after the show that Fons put on for Hopkins in the first period. Boyd didn't really do anything and Hopkins could never set up in the offensive zone. They can't complain with the game they played though. Both teams fought hard but Edina was the better team.

Does Hopkins have a tough section. May they make a state appearance?
The truth hurts
