You're right! Kallas did play. The information I received was wrong Hohertz is out for the year but the other kid who was hurt was actually a JV forward.

It was a good game but Hopkins couldn't keep up the pace they did in the 1st. I was impressed with Skalbeck and the goalie Fons.

Hohertz may be back, I think, but Olson(JV forward) is definitely out for the year with a cracked collarbone. The JV has taken a bigger hit than the V with recent injuries.

It was a good game overall. Hopkins dominated the first period, but Edina came to life in the second period. I can't believe the size and the quickness of Zach Budish. Casey Gaarder also had a great game. I think that Edina shut down the Skalbeck-Boyd connection pretty well. I do think that Tommy McCue (sophomore defenseman) had an outstanding game. The third period was tough, but I am proud of Hopkins for sticking with it. They have nothing to be ashamed of. They are still a very strong team. This loss will propel them to a victory over Wayzata next Saturday, I think.

It was an excellent game. Imagine if Hopkins still had Fink!! Budish really is all that. Big, fast and very smart. Hicks looks like he could be a college player as well. I'm not sure if this was McCue but if he is a smaller defenseman, he looked good too. Fons made 2 HUGE saves in the first. Well played, clean game, I enjoyed watching it.

Fons is fun to watch, i enjoyed it. I hope he does not leave so i can keep watching him.

McCue is the smaller one, yep! Hicks is another of my favorites. Like Budish, he also excels in football...baseball, too, I think. For what it's worth, Hopkins and Fink are better off apart. IMO, Fink's age mates were too dependent on him. He needed to move beyond and so did his teammates. The younger kids (sophomores) that came in have never played with Fink. Mike Fink's parents, true to form, were in attendance at the game tonight.

Perhaps you're right. With Fink gone some other guys have been forced to step up to the plate. Hopkins has some very good players and suspect they will sneak up on a few teams in the sectional playoffs.
