The game was all Rosemount last night, and did deserve the win. They showed more veteran experience and proved that sheer young talent is no match for veteran leadership (take note coach lucia). Also, morgan played a good game and I was impressed.steps1299 wrote:No doubt the Irish deserve the win tonight. They took advantage of every Jefferson mistake. as to that sign, thats probably one of the worst things Ive seen a fan section do. Show some class Rosemount, especially considering when #8 was the Jeffesron won, just makes you look like classless goons. Your better than that, I hope something happens by school administrators to whoever planned that move.

what do you expect from a high school fan section. very polite and courteous? get serious. class should be shown by the teams, but why do you care about high school fans?steps1299 wrote:No doubt the Irish deserve the win tonight. Fans aren't supposed to be courteous to opposing teams, however, one would think you could come up with something a little more creative than ribbing a talented hockey player who would give anything to be on the ice with his teammates...The Weight Room wrote:what do you expect from a high school fan section. very polite and courteous? get serious. class should be shown by the teams, but why do you care about high school fans?steps1299 wrote:No doubt the Irish deserve the win tonight. Most GREAT fan sections do these things in a manner that isn't so low-class..

To be quite honest..why are we talking about this? They are 17,18 hell even probably 16 year old students in the stands holding a sign, great, kids do stupid things. yeah it may have been maybe a LITTLE over the edge, but that doesnt have anything to do with the Rosemount players. By telling Rosemount to have a little class over the internet REALLY gets a lot done, just move on people. Just like me babbling on about this. I saw that in an earlier post that he is already skating on it which is fantastic news..will he be back by playoffs? does anybody have any info?schwang17 wrote:Fans aren't supposed to be courteous to opposing teams, however, one would think you could come up with something a little more creative than ribbing a talented hockey player who would give anything to be on the ice with his teammates...The Weight Room wrote:what do you expect from a high school fan section. very polite and courteous? get serious. class should be shown by the teams, but why do you care about high school fans?steps1299 wrote:No doubt the Irish deserve the win tonight. Now we're going Lord of the Rings on everybody. Every so often fans show unclassy behavior. Irish fans displayed it in the sign they made asking where #8 was, and jefferson fans displayed it by yelling derogatory things to some of the players for rosemount, in particular brown and morgan. Keep in mind that the unclassy behavior by the fans, should have no bearing of the class that is shown by the players on the ice.

well put, and from what I have seen from Jefferson's fans they are NOT INNOCENT. I have seen Jefferson fans act like jerks many a time, and had one spit on my from the boards when I scored a goal back in the day as I was skating towards the bench. However, Jefferson was my favorite team to play against because of the fans, the history, and they were always well disciplined players and I loved the uniforms. Rosemount was also was a personal fav because don't think I have EVER lost to a rosemount team even in my booster days but the fans didnt care they always had a blast at the games anyways. This thread just highlighted a key issue, and as low as fans can go the #8 thing was especially bad. This is not a poke at the rosemount community, but at fans in general....behave betterwhatitdobaby wrote:espnmobile8 wrote:They don't teach class down there in the "Shire"

edit- any reference to lord of the rings deserve an applaud. I got a little chuckle out of it.
I usually sit on the visiting side when i go to the rosemount home games. Yesterday I happened to be right behind the fans, and happened to hear a kid yell some dirty things to the players. Obviously the players were not affected by it, but in any case it's unnecassary. I do however wish the best to #8 in the rest of his recovery.

refs
If they were a high end crew, the league is in trouble IMHO. the 2 that did the JV were far from the best, seen much better in lower ranks. Late to the lines, late calls, lazy signals, etc.the one to love wrote:I would like to add that Hawkins had probably the most hits in one game I have seen by a kid (excluding last years state tourney). I can recall one shift he had i believe 5 big hits (as in the jefferson player flew into the boards or got knocked down). lol, surprisingly they were all clean.
That really doesn't matter much, but it was a pretty good tempo setter for getting things going in my opinion.
Another addition..... the officiating crew was a high end crew doing the game tonight. according to my inside source they are some of the best. I dont recall one bad or missed call on either side.
The head ref was very good and makes the others look good, as a team they are better but it is because of one official. The other 2 need some remedial work to hone their skills.

shoulda made one that said 10 breaks legs but yah decided against that... And jefferson fans were flicking us off and calling us white trash we never pointed the sign at the ice either it was always at their fans...[/quote]irishfan08 wrote:[quote="steps1
hahaha! how is saying 10 breaks legs any better? from what I am hearing from this game it sounds like a big boo hoo brawl. Perhaps also you are proving Jefferson fans right when you are playing he said she said, cause I haven't heard a single complaint from a jefferson fan about this yet, to me that says something.....
