From where I was I couldn't tell if he was interferring with Ewing or not, the puck was deep and Ewing was on the post. KTTC had a camera from about the refs angle on the far side of the play and Mayo had a kid on the goal line right behind Ewing in the crease and another in front of him who was probably also in the crease. At the time I wasn't sure of the call but KTTC had it pretty clearly that it was the right call.

BAT

The BAT line did not play together it seemed until late into the second or the third. I don't know why. Terrible call on the Spartan's second goal. We just can't get a break when we play Century.

Well, for starters...the BAT line was out there right away.

And what can't you get a break on? Just because the ref called a player in the crease, when it was fairly evident there was?

it looked to me like century either wanted the game more.......are they just outskated mayo.......plus mayo needs to get the other lines going other than the BAT line to be successful down the strecth......but all in all it was a great psycall game with both teams hitting hard.......cant wait till round 3 on valentines day!

I think this game was called fairly and was a good effort out of both teams. I think that Century might have wanted it more because they knew how bad they needed a win to turn their season around. Mayo started out with a lot of momentum but from what I see are starting to lose some of it.

Anderson was driven into the crease by Faupel...did he interfere? I could not tell, but Dusso was very animated with his call and made it right away.

Mayo had plenty of chances to score and missed....two great chances in the 1st, probably about 4 in the 2nd when they carried the play...had a couple in the 2nd, including Schultz one-timing one just wide that I don't think Ewing would have stopped had it hit the net.

Hats off to Century...that game could turn things around...should make for a nice stretch run into Feb.

as far as mayo's second "goal" it was the right call clearly because there were about two guys in teh crease including the guy practically standing in the net and if i was mayo i wouldnt be complaining very much because i was at the other game and i was behind the net and their third goal didnt go in and i had heard from a friend that the first goal for mayo was offsides.

Dusso made the right call on the no-goal, but that wasn't the only reason why Mayo lost.
Kraig Ewing played a great game. He won the game for Century. If he doesn't have a great second period like he did, Mayo could have put up 2-3. Mayo didn't look great in the first, and for parts of the third, but they dominated the second. Overall, I thought Mayo played badly.
Charlie Thauwald was a total non-factor last night. Century's D seemed to keep him off the puck pretty well, and when he had it he wasn't able to find the shooting lanes. Could have been an off-game for Charlie, too.
But, Mayo loses to Century again, which has become something pretty common the last few years.
