Warroad PeeWee B tourney Jan 18-20
Does anyone have the brackets for this tourney or who is going to be in it?

They haven't played either of the other two GF teams. They were scheduled but have had one game postponed against each team. The Icekings have a few more second year kids and have been playing pretty good lately.
There are a few teams that they both have played, ex. the Sugarkings lost to Grafton 2-1 and the following weekend the Icekings beat them 10-1.
Now I now that these teams can vary greatly from day to day but I think the Icekings have been doing really well this year.
The Icekings played Park Rapids in the TRF tourney just before X-mas and beat them 6 or 7- 1 or 2 I don't remember but it wasn't a close game.
I am looking forward to a good tournament, I just wish it wasn't going to be -10 for a high brrrrr.
I was going to go watch the Roseau vs Grand Rapids PWA at 10 but with the revised schedule, due to losing a team, I am not going to be able to make it over there.

Wayzata Gold is the defending state champion. Granted, not the same team that won last year, but this is more like a second A team from Wayzata than a northern B team. Our B team played Wayzata Gold in the Moorhead PWB tournament last year and we were pretty decent in D16, it was no contest, they took us 9-0 with 94 shot attempts! No disrespect to any other program in this tournament but Wayzata will take the championship in a walk. Honestly, I hope their 3 opponents can keep it within 5.
If it is -10 in Warroad, I hope your games are in the Gardens because if they are in the Olympic, it will be as cold inside as outside!

There are many games scheduled for the olympic rink. Warroad always schedules high school games during their tournaments so many games are in the olympic. I also think that wayzata will win this tournament, probably pretty easy, but Grand forks and Roseau will probably play them tough. If the Gold team is anything like the blue team, ive seen them and they were very good. Does anyone know if the Wayzata gold and blue are mostly 2nd yr players. I know Roseau has like 2 2nd yr kids and the rest our 1st year. They are very young.

Yes they walked through the tournament.
There were very few good games. two were one goal games and the rest were run time.
Wayzata games were Ice Kings 11-1 shots were around 35 to 15 or so
then they played Norberry 19-0 shots were 69-0 I heard then Roseau in the championship game 11-0 I am not sure on the shots but it wasn't close either.
The Icekings played L.O.W. twice then Warroad. 14-0 12-0 and 9-3.
On a positive note my son entered the weekend with 0 goals and he left with 5.

There was quite a few games in the Olympic but it really wasn't too bad in there. They did put in some bleachers and heaters but it is hard to see because they are in the corners.
Moorhead was in town playing first it was girls 14U then girls varsity, Boys JV and then Varsity. It was at 5:15 so there was two teams there watching. Warroad started out with the scoring and was up 3-0 but Moorhead came back and out shot the Warriors in the third but could only pull to 3-2 and then gave up an empty netter with a minute left so it ended 4-2.
The captain #19 on Warroad sure has some wheels.

i thought roseau or grand forks would atleast give them a game, but they didnt roseau had maybe 10 shots in the game. it might have helped a little in a smaller rink, but Wayzata team speed was way too much. Would have been nice if there was a Roseau vs Grand forks game. I am guessing that Wayzata is full of 2nd year players, either that or the play all year long. They can probably beat or play with 90% of the A teams, if not more. Wayzata has a very good team i have never seen a peewee b team that can move the puck like they do.
