last years HM goaltender

Post by recruit21 »

there was a very good freshman goaltender last year for Hill, he played jv but could have easily played varsity over Danny Mackenny. I believe his last name was wholers? I think he transferd but I don't know where and i don't see him on any varsity rosters. Does anyone have any info on what happened to this kid? Is he under the new transfer rule?

It's JV they probably either switch off every game or just choose one of the two to play. And if he was as good as you say i doubt he would have transfered to Mahtomedi instead of trying to go somewhere better.

Hill-Murray's jv smoked him 9-2 when they played, so he is not that good.

he was at Hill for 9th grade, How about he realized he wasn't going to see the ice until his Jr year.

I know nothing about this kid or his abilities, but the bigger issue here is that Hill-Murray or Holy Angels or Cretin and other privates offer more than hockey - an education that is college prep, smaller classes, religious education, specific behavioral and academic expectations that are not for everyone. I know a number of Hill players from the past that just didn't like the school. Either they struggled academically or they didn't like Lech's system (especially those guys who had Rohlik as a coach first). Some great kids, smart kids, just didn't like Hill. So what? It's possible the Maht. goalie left for those reasons alone.
