Someones gotta know?

This past week from what ive heard but no real info on it. Seems to be tight lipped? I hope its nothing serious as their program is struggling to stay alive and they dont need this. Anything major and the Indian-Raider rivalry could be gone. I hope that when it comes out its not anything that will have a long time impact on Raider Nation.

My sources tell me he was suspended for swearing at some (one?) players. What really seems to be going on is that they are trying to get rid of him so they are going to make things difficult for him. This seems underhanded, because they could easily not hire him for next year. Another problem is that he has his regular job at the paper mill that has to take priority over coaching, so he has missed some practices. The only way the Greenway program will survive is if they find a person who will make Greenway hockey a number one priority. I don't know how they will be able to do this unless they can make him the arena manager and pay a living salary or have a teaching position available. The latter is not likely to happen due to a continual decline in enrollment. Greenway's last graduating class was under 90, which is half of what it was in the glory years.

Greenway is having a mediocre year. Now with the coaching turmoil I'm afraid the year will take a definite turn for the worse. What they are missing is a good goalie. A good goalie gives the whole team a lift and allows them to play at a higher level. Greenway's last tournament team is a testament to this. Until that team put Sobtzak in the nets, Greenway was a good team but not a great team. Once Sobtzak started, the whole season turned around. If Greenway still had Underwood they would be a very dangerous team.

Greenway coach getting suspended is yes a bad thing but it also turned out good because the subsitute coach happens to be Pat Guyer. Under his coaching the kids might actually learn a thing or two about hockey.

Back to the subject. Greenway's head coach will sit out a week. Suspension had to do with verbal abuse of a referee, not a player. No ousting is planned. GW needed someone to step in for the week and Pat was available. That's the word I got from a reliable source.
