By the way, the Mtka Benilde game is not listed on the website because it's a late add. But, when you go to "Game of the Week" tonight at 7pm the game will be there.

If they are outside the must be pretty "pure" with these tempatures.

Preatty intense game at the end there. The Gardner guy wasn't a huge impressive force. He made all the easy plays so I guess that's good enouph. BSM may have gotten that second opportunity to tie the game.

BSM SCORED THE TYING GOAL. IT WAS ROBBED FROM THEM BY THE REF........

While the Skippers notched a 3-2 win tonight, it was an evenly played game. BSM appeared to score in the final seconds of the 3rd to tie it up but the refs waived it off. There was a whistle even though the puck was loose and ultimatly found net. The ref lost sight of it apparently.
The blue-chippers (Student-Gardiner) on each team had average games. The show stopper of the night was Tonka's sophomore Prochno who left the arena with a new hat. Kruger was steady in nets when called upon.

Benilde looks to run the table for the remainder of the season (sans Shattuck) while Tonka has an uphill battle most of the way.

If these two meet again in sections, buckle up. I'm confident that the outcome of today's contest will be all that is needed to fire up the Red Knights.

ps- MyFoxHockey.com did a nice job streaming the game tonight. It sure beat braving the bone chilling temps. Besides, you can enjoy adult beverages when watching from home :D

This was a great, great hockey game.. one that should have went to OT. BSM scores obvious goal with 26 seconds left to tie the game, but it got waived off because the ref lost site of the puck. It's just to bad.. but it happens. 2 evenly matched teams and both are definately amoungst the top 4-5 teams in state.

They actually scored twice in the final minute. The first was prehaps debatable, but no excuse for the second. The ref can't blow a call like that in a big game. It's disappointing to see a great game like that decided by a ref who likes calling attention to himself. If I knew his name, I would write to the MSHSL. Shame.

That was a great game indeed. After reading this article, Pauley seems like a pretty good guy.

You are right, he seems like a really good guy. I especially like how he was throwing a tantrum at the end of the game, with the water bottle chucking and the door banging open and shut.

No excuse for an adult throwing a tantrum but understandable after the offifcials stole the game for the Skippers.

It's never "understandable" for a high school coach to act like he did. He is supposed to set an example for the student athletes he coaches. When the players do things like that are we supposed to excuse them? No, we usually say they are supposed to act like adults, but if your role model does it, we should not expect the kids to.....

I know what your saying, it is completely wrong to act that way. However, being at that game and seeing two goals incorrectly disallowed in the final minute, it is going to cause much frustration. Is there a better way to handle it? Sure. Does that reflect poorly on Pauly's character? I don't think so. He let his emotions get the best of him.

no, he probably shouldn't have acted that way. But you see it a lot in high school games, coaches acting out. He did get two goals in ten seconds wiped away, which would have sent the game in to OT

Two goals disallowed or not, it still does not excuse the actions.

I watched him too many times when he was behind the Minnetonka bench do the same thing. If something didn't go the way he saw, he would blow up and scream and shout at the refs, or anyone who was listening.

It is the coaches responsibility to act in a professional manner, no matter what the circumstances, in front of his students. What does the behavior teach to the kids? Nothing but disrespect for officials. And we wonder why so many referees/linesmen quit. Because they are sick and tired of dealing with coaches that act like that!

Actually, Tonka had a goal disallowed in the 2nd. I was at that end, and did not heard a whistle, and the puck definitely went in the net.

Alright i know that PaulyS actions by be a tad bit dramatic but think of how you would feel if your time got two goals taken away just tell me that you would not act like the way he did. I met Pauly one time before this he seems like the nicest guy in the world but when you got two goals taken away from you like he did i am surprised he did not go even more extreme .

After the second goal was disallowed, I thought we might see Pauly in a clock tower with an automatic weapon. I would have been upset too but this is going to make the playoffs even more interesting.
