why does everybody think District 1 is bad? (BB1)
Yeah i am in district 1 as its obvious but this district has a huge spectrum of skill. from a team that is not so developed to a solid program that can do something this year. by the way i am talking about Bantam B for this topic...if you have anything to add that would be great

tomAss...want performance?...hmm um MPLS park beat Woodbury blue who is like 4th in state and richfield beat mpls park...can you explain that to me. hows that for perfomance...
and to FREDFLINTSTONE:
MPLS Park is in first due to their fair play pts.
Richfield is in second but they beat MPLS Park. but its the fair play pts.
Highland 1
St. Thomas...should be in 3rd but get a lot of penalties.
St Paul Johnson
Highland 2
Como
Minnehaha Academy
Washburn

Dalakonig,
TomAss is correct. Better to stay under the radar. Last year the MPLS*Park PW B team stayed under the radar, showed up at South Regions and ran the table beating two top ranked Eagan teams to get there. Took third in state. Went from never being rated by Lets Play Hockey to ranked third. Quietly keep doing what you are doing and you will ultimately get recognition.
D1 has two good teams - Richfield and MPLS*Park. From what I have watched this year either would be competitive in the middle of Districts 3 or 6, but neither has been consistent enough (or haven't played enough games against top 20 teams) to crack the top 20 (this is OK...remember, stay below the radar and peak at the playoffs). Saint Thomas will be playing in D8's postseason play and Washburn dropped to "C" level last week and will no longer play B1. Highland is a darkhorse. Most likely, D1 will send Richfield, Highland, and MPLS*Park (unless Johnson comes from nowhere to claim a spot as they did at the PW A level last year) to the B1 Southern Regionals where they will have to take on the top three D6 teams and the top 2 D4 teams....goaltending will be key at the Southern Regionals in order for a D1 team to advance beyond the Regionals as the top three D6 teams will possess better player skills and three solid lines compared with the D1 teams that have approximately two good lines.
Regarding Richfield beating MPLS*Park...remember, that one has an asterisk. It was tied in regulation, but based on the referee's rule interpretation that "the game doesn't end until the horn stops buzzing" Richfield won. You guys played a solid game and deserved a win as the hustle was there and MPLS*Park's wasn't. I am sure the two teams will go at it again in the D1 Playoffs and it will be a good game.
Let your buddy Woodstick know that I am working on getting his video of the Richfield/MPLS*Park game...should have something in approximately a week or two as our video guy has to edit it.

Well, they aren't part of D8, and I don't think D8 would let them into the district for purposes of the playoffs. There are 12 D8 teams, and 12 D8 seeds in the playoffs.SWPrez wrote:Bnyrup,
No idea. I might be wrong. I know they will not be competing under D1 and they are located in D8. Not sure how D8 is going to work things or if STA will have an opportunity there at all.
I thought that STA was a D1 team through Richfield -- why wouldn't they play in the D1 playoffs?

BB1 D1
This district gets no respect because:
1 - They're not in D6
2 - They're not in D3
3 - They're not in D10
4 - They're not in D8
5 - They're not in D11
6 - They're not in DIR
7 - They're not in D16
8 - They historically don't play in the Edina, EP, Bloomington, WBL, Duluth, Moorhead, GR "top tournaments", etc, etc.
So D1 players: go out, have fun, enjoy the game and when you get the chance prove you belong...

BlueBlood - maybe you should educate yourself on some of the history of the D1 area and what has happened over the last 10 years. There are many players that are playing college hockey at all levels from this area. Yes, there really has not been too many teams at the "A" level that can say they have won games against some of the powers around the Metro, but hockey in the area is still alive and working it's tail off to put teams on the ice and keep kids playing hockey.
I have not seen anyone on here say that D1 is one of the top districts, but your post shows how little you really know about the area and the people and players that keep working on keeping it alive. So yes, we will keep going out and having some fun playing hockey, but we really don't have anything to prove!

Blueliner- I believe the question was asked why district 1 doesn't get any respect. I think Blueblood was just giving you reasons why. If you go scrimmage Edina, Eden Prairie, Minnetonka, Burnsville, and Woodbury and win 50% of the games you will get plenty of respect.
Good luck hopefully see you in regionals

The only reason that mpls park peewee b1 even made it to state is that they played in one of the easiest regions. Edina white beat them 9-2!!!!! but both edina teams had to go through both wayzta teams in regions and both wound up losing, barely. but then in state mpls park got crushed in the semis against wayzata. true, they were a pretty good team but i dont think that they deserved to end up third in state.
