rosemount will most likely handle this one pretty well with a solid victory 4-1 over the lightning......

I really like EV's first line going against Rosemounts first line. If they can be physical against them, percy/porter/and brown will get a little frustrated.

It will be a battle of the 2nd lines and I really like Rosemount's 2nd better than EV's but Friedman is a solid player. Rosemount's first has better chemistry all around and I think going head to head it is close but like I said it should be a battle of what 2nd line has a better night. Also big factors will be special teams, and penalties.

Rosemount looked out of synch against AV last weekend. Hope they bring their A game. Eastview has some firepower as well, and moves the puck extremely well. Goalies might be the key, especially Eastview's which have been known to give up a few softy's.

Couldn't agree more. Both teams have good PP's that can move the puck well.

Like it was earlier said it is a very crucial week for eastview with EP and rosemount and it will be there chance to prove whether or not they are for real in this race to the finish in the lake. Unfortunatly, i think the lightening will be put into their place......

Rosemount 4
Eastview 1
WOW, what a great match up, would love to attend.

Gotta go whit the Irish 4-3!

Not really impressed with Rosemount

Post by Lakeviewing »

Good goaltender, but the rest of the team in average. Brown is a hack, only looking only to enhance his points in the conference. Please play some team defense to prove you are a D-1 player. If Eastviews goalie plays well and Eastview can shoot and score. This will be a tight one, but Eastview wins by one.

what facts are you basing your statement saying that he is a hack and only looking to enhance his lake conference points? Is he racking up the penalty minutes?...not quite.
He has just as many assists as he does goals which would deem him as a play maker as well.

I am not sure you can claim hack, but as it has been deemed by many posters, Brown does look to enhance his points rather than play team D. I am not sure you want to ruffle too many feathers as your post count has not reached double digits and you are already trashing PR, now Brown and who knows who is next... I would be careful unless you would like to make a new monicker...

Happy for Rosemount

Post by Hockeyboomer »

Rosemount has been the door mat of the Lake Conference (in Hockey) for 30 years. We used to bring up our JV players because they would get good ice time and it would still be a romp. Not anymore, they are the best team in the Lake and the best in the Section. It will be Eastview vs. Rosemount to go to State. Woodbury is struggling, Cretin is .500 and who else is there? This is a strange matchup because the two hockey associations on the girls side have combined to make REV. There are girls on the same team whose brothers are on Varsity at Rosemount and Eastview. Note to Rosemount: Don't mouth off, you've been good for one season in the last 30! Eastview needs great goaltending to win and the chance of that is maybe 1 in 4. We will see one of these teams in the STATE SEMI's! Mark it in the book.

haha, if they were better they would be leading the Lake conference wouldn't they? lol

*edit*
Rosemount went to state in 1992 with a losing record (it was tier 2, but still it was kind of like A).... So I would say twice in the last 30 years, haha.

Not really, The lake is very tough year in and year out. Im not saying that EV is the better team, I think they are very equal. This saturday should be a great game, and these two teams will be the favorite in their section.

Ya I know what you mean about it being tough. I just meant higher in the standings....which would, by default, make them leading the Lake.

Oh Brown's a hack? I didn't know that. Must have been a year ago he's at the bottom of the Penalty Minutes in the Irish Lineup. Why aren't you impressed with them how many games have you been to? There 14-4 and are top in the lake only one of the toughest confrences in the United States and first in their section with a undefeated record in 3AA. Your right that's not very impressive.

I will do my very best hockeyjunkie. Have fun in Fargo eh.

Their undefeated record is very good, dont get me wrong. But many teams in the Lake that are in 3AA, dont play other teams in the section that arent in their conference. So it doesnt give them as much as a chance to get some more wins/losses. What if EV or AV went undefeated in 3AA by just playing lake conf teams, would that still make them better? You have to look at it from all views.

Ex: EV/AV doesnt play Woodbury, Cretin, Hastings, Park or Sibley.
Eagan, woodbury, Rosemount, all have played more section games against each other due to their non-conference schedule. Someone like Sibley hasn't even played a section game, which is not uncommon for a lower team.

The only people they have to blame for not playing as many teams in the section is the coaches. Rosemount's staff picked up Woodbury on the non-confrence schedule because they probably knew they had a chance to face them in the Sections, and the same can be said about Eagan and Woodbury. Eastview or Apple Valley should have picked up maybe a few more section games to better their outcome, but the only one to blame would be the coaching staff.. and as for being undefeated in the section it is a pretty important because instead of playing a 5 or 4 or even 3 seed right away it gives you a better setup giving you most likely that #1 seed.

They finalize most of the schedule a year in advance. Some schools are still looking for one game still towards summertime, and with the section changes it wasnt going to be able to work out for every school since they had most of their schedule planned out before the announced section changes. No doubt look for more in section match-ups in the future.

Anyways, I heard that Krob is playin in nets tomorrow for EV

True statement STEV16..but the coaches knew about the section changes months before. And as well as playing in the Lake conference allowing only 5 non-conference its tough to schedule quality section opponents while challenging yourself with the states best. Unlike other Conferences who allow more non-conference games making it easier to schedule more section opponents and so on.

Rosemount has had O'shea's number the past 3 meetings so maybe it will be a good idea to go with Krob to maybe match Rosemounts fire power. Will be a great game for sure!
